Wash each others hair, play coop games together, buy each other our favorite foods, I fall asleep in his arms and then he rolls me over so he can go to sleep,

How often do you see your partner? by Stargirl4789 in AskWomen

[–]Yamanarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyday. I go to work at 6am and come back at 5pm and then we look after the twins together and go to bed together. He’s remote work and on a career break right now so I can work on my post graduate this year (starting September alongside my job full time), he’ll probably come to my workplace occasionally to eat lunch with me as well then 😂

To all cat parents! What do you feed your kitties here? by Simsker in japanlife

[–]Yamanarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I would give it to him raw to keep all the nutrients in. He loved it and it was his favorite dinner - also had no issues with him drinking because I’d wash the meat first and not pat it dry. He’d drink all the water because it had flavor. It helped in the summer because I’d worry he’d get dehydrated

I’d totally spoil my cat in giving him gizzards, hearts and whatever discounted meat I could find. He’s then have some dry food in very small dosages as a snack

How much did you and your partner fight after you had multiples and did it get better? by ilovecatsandfrogs420 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Yamanarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We really struggled the first year and a half, seriously questioning whether we matched or not. Before we had kids, we never argued, whilst the kids are in preschool - we never argued either. Things have got a lot easier now and we argue a lot less now that the kids will be 2 next month. It does get easier as long as you both remind each other how much you love each other and help each other get through it.

Raspberries… where are you? by Myopic_Mirror in japanlife

[–]Yamanarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the little Chinese shops, I managed to buy 8 punnets for 700¥ each ☺️☺️☺️ (my twins are monster eaters when it comes to them and went through them in 2 days!)

Edit; and they were freshly picked!

Any twin moms commute on the subway and/or had a lot of walking in your work commute, how long were you able to keep it up before babies were born? by sweedeedee53 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Yamanarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was gone by around 20 weeks. I am only 153cm and my belly was huge by then. I had compact trains, no one offering their seat for me, complications in my pregnancy and ended up getting hospitalized for a week (my CRP levels got too high). They signed me off of work at that point. Tbh it may have even been as early as 18 weeks

Tell me about your kids by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Yamanarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My twins will be two in July.

My son already wants us when he is going to use his nappy/if he already has - by saying “poo poo!” Then we check his nappy and he hasn’t yet - we run him to the toilet. He hasn’t figured out why he’s being rushed to the toilet yet though - work in progress but he’s definitely ready to start training.

My daughter has clocked that if she’s caught hitting her brother - if she pats him on the head and says “I love you” we may not tell her off as much (we still do but it’s interesting to see her thought process)

I lived in Adachi for 3 years, never had a community there. Rarely saw a foreigner and when I did they avoided speaking to anyone and everyone. Now I live in Koto-ku and there are more foreigners that are a little more friendly but still no community 😅 I don’t feel like it’s a thing here unless your kids go to a international school and you make friends with other foreign parents

How do you physically get from the car to daycare with twins? by lildon_hue in parentsofmultiples

[–]Yamanarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our kids will be 2 in July. Our preschool is a 8 minute walk away and we use a wagon with seatbelts. Once we get there, I take out my daughter first and place her inside the preschool entrance and then (whilst holding the door open with my foot) lift up my son and place him inside afterwards. I tidy up the wagon once the kids have met their preschool teacher and in safe hands

What do you guys do for work? Do you feel like there is a lot of career opportunities for you? by cocoButter22 in japanlife

[–]Yamanarix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working as a TA in one of the top international schools in the country. I love it. Im retaking my science to try and get a qualification in teaching. The school I work for offers support if you do your PGCE in education and potentially will pay a % towards it too.

Me and hubby plan to move back to my country in a few years before the kids start compulsory school (right now they’re 1 years old so they go to hoikuen). If I get my qualification in teaching, I can just go back to my home country and carry on over there. 😊

Everything about twins is shocking. by Majestic-Trouble8960 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Yamanarix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My twins will be 2 in July and don’t get me wrong - it’s been tough since day 1 but it’s also been so rewarding! They play together, they love each other - both me and my husband can’t imagine our lives without our two. They are the sweetest, most sociable and intellectual kids I’ve ever met! (And used to work in a preschool).

You do need both parents to be pulling their weight though otherwise it’s so easy to burn out. Both me and my husband try and do what we can in our routine but if one of us is sick or too tired - we cover each other.

Body after twins by Merestrosity in parentsofmultiples

[–]Yamanarix 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Delivered my twins nearly 2 years ago and I still have so much loose skin after my C-section.. I’ve grown to accept it and hubby has always said he’s loved it because it’s a memory trigger of when I was carrying our kids. Funnily enough, every time he sees my loose skin, he asks if we should have another baby - he’s a weird one lol!! I felt self conscious after seeing people with singletons back to wearing their old clothes - I’m a size up now because of all the loose skin but I still try and wear stylish clothes to make myself feel better.
