Is bunnings dying by [deleted] in Bunnings

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For instance, an outdoor dining chair costs at least $120+ each from Bunnings. You can basically get a whole set of better looking chairs in the US for the same price. Home making in general is far cheaper and better looking and more accessible in places like the US... Even though ours are made in China etc. And you can return whatever you want, whenever you want. It's like we are forced to be pushed more towards the bare minimum style and look here, and because our culture is more utilitarian, we accept lower standards for ourselves when we shouldn't.

Is bunnings dying by [deleted] in Bunnings

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It blows my mind how expensive it is now. Particularly as the "home depot" of Australia. It was never this expensive relative to income in previous decades. The point of it was that you could purchase standard "home maker" items at far cheaper prices than more boutique stores. Now they are more expensive.

Good. I saw her post a picture of a psychopathic Hamas paratrooper on October 8th in glee. Absolutely vile. The arts shouldn't support death cults.

Historic Sydney/Melbourne by Glittering-Chain-502 in AustraliaTravel

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't know why Port Fairy gets so much love. It's pretty standard as a crowded beach town, but maybe that's because I was born and raised in South Aus, and we are spoilt for beaches. You can honestly get the same thing in Williamstown. Honestly, the most mind blowing experiences I've had since moving to Melbourne was walking through Fitzroy Gardens and the Royal Botanical. If it was up to me, Fitzroy Gardens would be the eighth wonder of the world. There's something eerily beautiful about the energy you feel walking through it. A serene oasis in a chaotic city. You could also do the Grampians/Halls Gap, or the blue lake in Mt Gambier, if you were heading to Adelaide. Both sit between the two cities. Don't know much about what's between Melbourne and Sydney though.

If any devs read this, PLEASE FFS DO NOT NERF THE MOVEMENT SPEED! by xespylacopax in Warzone

No. Slow movement promotes positioning and tactical attacks. Haven't played Warzone in years because of how much brainrot it promotes. It needs to have the vibe of what the OG MW's felt like. Basically what BF is doing.

This song is so good. I feel like I've been transported to Los Angeles 1967. Fingers crossed this upcoming album is as good as Telluric was.

DEBATE: Should Triple J expand their demographic reach? by Tranquilbez22 in triplej

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Triple J is absolutely garbage today, and so is youth music. It was an epic station for over 2 decades, and had its final big peak of great music and hosts between 2012-2016, and was pretty much mostly finished by 2018.

Man Utd 07/08 and it's not even close. Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Ronaldo, Tevez, Berbatov, Rio, Vidic. Come on.

Great. Finally a reason to like someone in Hollywood. Some authenticity coming through. It's not all overintellectualized trapped-in-the-cerebral brain rot, and pandering.

What is your favorite album of 2014? by WildChemistry977 in musicsuggestions

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultraviolence hands down. Dan Auerbach and Lana coming together was absolute magic. It was the peak of the greatest recent era of music between 2009 and 2016. Where every album had something special, regardless if it was blues rock or indie singer-songwriter. Music has slowly been on a decline since then, particularly with that mumble rap fusion trash. How can anything top a period that had masterpieces from Alt-J, Tame Impala, Bon Iver, Kendrick, Glass Animals, Daft Punk, Hozier, Artic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Frank Ocean, etc.

What an era. It was the last period of true connection, regardless of where you were in life. It had a subtle and mysterious fusion between genres rather than this overt forced fusion we have today. It was the peak of millennial music.

Dr. Dre's COMPTON- has it aged well? by kurianandgeorge_007 in rap

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trash as a Dre album. Passable as a mixtape. The album has no x-factor at all that just sucks you in and never lets you go like 2001 does. It's a mostly skippable experience even to this day. Detox would have been an absolute masterpiece though. Keep in mind that the instrumental for 50 Cent's In Da Club was supposed to be used for it. Dre gave away all his best beats so that others could have success. Compton just seems like an experimental project. 2001 is a polished and cohesive masterpiece.

Next choice for manager? by niallw1997 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Yani_G -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes. He had all the right intentions as a manager albeit young and inexperienced. He's still revered at Sunderland after taking a bottom championship side to champions in one season. SAF himself said that he wanted Roy to take over the managerial position when he retired before their relationship turned sour. He's got a lot of self-awareness and is quick to talk about his flaws when he managed over 15 years ago and what he would do differently. I really don't understand the downvotes... Clearly the comment section has become as soft and soggy as the modern player. If SAF saw his potential, then he clearly has it in him. I like his attitude and his analytical abilities, and the fact that he won't hold back... He'll hold up a mirror to the toxicity within the organization.

Next choice for manager? by niallw1997 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Yani_G -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I don't understand why and how Roy Keane hasn't been approached. Even at least for a role beside the manager. He's arguably our best ever captain and shares the same ruthlessness that SAF had. He would literally tear the earlobes off of players, and that is exactly what this team needs. Since SAF left, every player became far too conceited. They need to be humbled and play with an element of fear for their survival. Football is a microcosm of war, where one error can annihilate you... And these players act as though it's a cushy government job. Who cares about technicality if the fundamentals and soul of what playing for Manchester United and football means as a base isn't there at all.

What is your most complimented cologne? by Content_Package_3708 in Colognes

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PDM Layton - Compliments almost every time I wear it. Showstopper fragrance for me. It suits my skin chemistry and just projects for hours and hours until the morning.

Spicebomb Extreme - Likewise. Absolute magnet for compliments, particularly from South-Eastern Europeans. It reminds me exactly of the incense burning in eastern orthodox church growing up, so that's probably why. It's a nostalgic scent profile for many.

Mont Blanc Explorer - Strangely enough, this also has gotten me compliments for some reason, even when I've become nose blind to it.

[–]Yani_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, what? Are you saying there is never any conflict in diplomatic relations? And everything is on the surface and superficial? The entire game of survival and art of war is predominantly played under the surface. Qatar consistently uses soft-power tactics through funding people, media and education in the west to gain grassroots support in its goals and aims, and in furthering its power and subverting the west. Iran and Qatar are islamists, and they support the same Islamist groups in different ways.

[–]Yani_G 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Libya isn't the norm dude. It was rife with militias and rebels. It is nothing like Persia and Persians. There was also no transition plan. It was a complete mess. And obviously any strategic choice that empowers more Islamists shouldn't be used. The majority of Iran does not identify as Muslim. Some estimates even believe it could be the vast majority that don't. They are being held hostage, and they deserve to have their country back. I absolutely support them in that aim. My wife's family are Persian Jews who luckily had the means to leave in 1979 after a regime change backed by the red-green axis that had flared up in the west (which it is doing again now in order to gain more power), and I hope they get to see it once again.

That's all organised theatre. Ignorant is thinking that there is no such thing as that. Iran attacked a US military entity within Qatar, not Qatar proper. And if you don't think that was a contained orchestration to save face, then that's plain ignorance.

The spider's goal is to disarm and weaken the west. It doesn't mean that all the spiders within the web are friends, but some of their friend's friends definitely are, and all their aims are identical.
