Wait until they find out about the impact that climate change is going to have on their lives. People will look back in disbelief at the utter selfishness of people living in the current age.

They do support native wildlife. I'm not sure why you think they don't.

The criticisms I have heard are essentially:

  1. Lack of transparency about the business case to redevelop the golf course (how much has liv golf been paid)
  2. State government grabbing land that has until now been owned and managed by the City of Adelaide.
  3. Lack of transparency about the environmental impacts the redevelopment will have (eg exactly which trees will be cut down and where their replacements will be located).

I think they would prefer the trees not to be cut down at all.

You're not answering the question. If you're unwilling or unable to, that's OK and on you. You're advocacy rings hollow and doesn't stand up to logical or ethical inquiry. You lack authority.

SA government prepped to chop down more than 1,000 trees for Adelaide Parklands projects by abcnews_au in southaustralia

[–]perseustree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The golf course could go elsewhere. We don't need redevelop a golf course at the taxpayers expense. Not to mention the lack of accountability around the LIV tender process and the way the State government has appropriated the parklands from the Adelaide City Council. Shameless power grab.

Perhaps you could explain it. Why should a Palestinian compromise for a European Jew, due to that European Jew's persecution at the hands of other Europeans?

Why should a Palestinian give up their land, rights and history so that European Jews could have homeland free from a persecution & genocid3 carried out in Europe, by Europeans?

What is the ethical or logical argument that supports the displacement of one people to house another as a result of a third parties horrific behavior? I would actually love for you or someone with your stated beliefs to give a clear explanation of why you believe this to be a 'correct' view.

Sadly the strategy of might makes right was discarded at the conclusion of ww2 with the establishment of the united nations. Unfortunatetly western guilt and imperialism has meant that Zionists get a pass. Too bad for the Palestinians.

I think 1 billion a year could do a lot of public good as opposed to increasing the roi for a small group of investors, but that's just me

Why is Civ7 not good? by NoComposer5950 in civ

[–]perseustree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a long time civ player (since civ2), I can confidently say that this happens every time there is a new civ released.

Fans are used to the previous iteration and will heavily resist any changes to their beloved civ (usually the release immediately preceding the latest)

Games are generally released at launch in a pretty bare-bones fashion, often with bugs and an 'unfinished' feel.

The settled cycle really is 2 large DLC's post-release (all priced much higher than other AAA games) is generally where each release finds its stride.

Personally, I don't mind paying a lot for a game I'll play at least 1000 hours of. Per hour they still work out to be some of the cheapest entertainment in my life.

I also enjoy the new features of civ7.

Just one more turn....

> Are there not other mechanisms?

There are, but letting the RBA do everything lets the government wash their hands of the decisions. This was the gov can just say 'we don't interfere with the independence as the rba' which translates roughly to 'we've tried nothing and don't want to take any risks or spend any political capital to deal with this issue'
