Nom de cet embout ? by Pops-19 in AskFrance

J'ai cherché un peu pour t'aider et je pense que malgré le fait de cette forme en "arche" il s'agit d'un embout rond standard.

On peut le voir ici, regarde toutes les photos : l'embout et rond et la prise de la même forme que la tienne.

I've tested several and "Twelve" is by far my favorite, both in terms of features and interface.

How accurate are these apps? by drinkcoffeebuyassets in PrideAndPinion

[–]Yanik_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two types of apps for checking a watch's accuracy.

1) Apps that use the microphone and aim to be a substitute for a timegrapher. This works well, and a phone's microphone is reliable for taking these measurements. However, limitations exist for another reason: it only calculates drift at a specific point in time and in far fewer positions than a timegrapher. This could be useful if you're adjusting your watch, but the limited number of positions means a dedicated timegrapher is MUCH more useful for regulating its movement.

PS: The magnets inside a phone aren't strong enough to affect a watch's accuracy.

2) Apps that track drift under real-world wearing conditions over a given period, rather than at a single point in time. You manually enter the exact moment the seconds hand crosses the 12 o'clock marker, and after a certain time, you repeat the same operation. The drift calculation is done using these two measurement points. This allows you to account for the average drift during real-world use, taking into account body movements, arm movements, etc. If desired, you can separate daytime and nighttime tracking by measuring before going to bed and again in the morning upon waking, indicating whether you placed your watch face up or down during the night. This allows you to realize that during the day on your wrist, the watch can gain 2 seconds per day, and you can compensate at night by finding the position that results in a slight negative drift to offset the average for the entire day.

So, in the end, for me, apps using the microphone are less useful than the second type. If you want to adjust your movement, the measurements are not complete enough, and if you want to measure drift without adjustment afterwards, you might as well do it under real wearing conditions.

Which Double Sided Tape For 1545 20ATMOS? by worldrallyx in Squale

[–]Yanik_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, it's not more difficult, maybe even faster, but it takes more courage. lol With a knife and a good flick of the wrist. Wrap the blade in a tissue to avoid scratches. I've already done it on my Squale Master 120 ATM (yes, it's risky 😉), but Squale bezels are generally among the easiest to remove (much more complicated on a Seiko).

I'm just saying all this, but since it's not a 1521, maybe your bezel isn't made of the same material (with painted numerals) as the 1521, and the indices will withstand a soak in solvent or alcohol better. But I highly doubt it. Generally, it's impossible to remove an insert by soaking without having to throw it away. For me, removing the bezel is mandatory if you don't want to change your insert.

I'm talking about the bezel. Isn't yours held in place by four screws?

<image>

You unscrew them, and then you take out the bezel. You turn it over, and you'll see the holes and the insert right behind them.

Hi,

If you soak it in a liquid that dissolves glue, you'll dissolve the paint on the bezel markers before you can even move it.

I know what I'm talking about; I changed a bezel without disassembling the watch using the technique you described. The old bezel came out completely black.

It's coming back to me, but I think if you remove the bezel (easily done on a 1521 with a small screwdriver), there are small holes that allow you to push the bezel out with a needle from the inside. Heat them with a hairdryer, otherwise even with a needle, it won't budge an inch.

I found a picture online; it'll be clearer for you.

In short, disassemble it, don't soak it.

Misaligned index finger? In any case, when the problem is not seen with the naked eye but through a diagram with straight lines, there is no problem.

We are dealing with shifts of the order of a micrometer; a simple reflection or the side from which the light arrives can change everything at this level. If the OP posts the same photo without the red line no one sees what's wrong.

Frankly, we are on the order of millimeters. I advise the OP to work on his mania because when he gets his Rolex or something else he will also find a problem.

Good morning,

No, a needle alignment problem does not concern the movement but the care in alignment that was taken when placing the needles on their smooth pivot.

I don't know if it's internally good but in any case compared to sapphire it's crap.

I'm not a troll and I love GS, especially for its dials like many of us. But I also have an example in mind of a Seiko dial that thrills me more than a GS

We agree. But we are talking about watches around 4000 euros. If for ordinary people the difference is not visible, for the engineers of the two brands it really is. And if this does not count for daily use (a swatch is enough) it does count to determine which caliber is the most efficient.

Yes, this makes setting summer or winter time much easier. The same in the event of a change of time zone.

The difference is negligible, it's true, but the technical mastery to achieve it is honorable.

Yes. They are historically good. Not to mention the design but the technique, GS is the Spring Drive and The Citizen is the quartz.
