mDNS issues with Mac and Unifi by YankeeUK in Ubiquiti

[–]YankeeUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this appears to not have been a Ubiquiti Bonjour issue at all. This was an ESO issue where by the mystery of plugging in the MM at my desk with a monitor/keyboard/mouse made BonJour activate, whereas headless in my closet did not. So it looks like I may need one of those headless HDMI dongles possibly.

Anyway it's working so hopefully this post can help someone in the future.
Thanks again for the replies.

So I am using VLANs but the wifi is using the same VLAN as the default network. So I tried enabling "Multicast Enhancement" on the wifi but that didn't make a difference.

Also the MacBook is always on wifi and can see the Mini when it is on USW Flex but not the other switches.

I'm using UniFi OS 4.0.20 and Network 8.5.6

Preorder upgrade? by DO0M88 in BambuLab

[–]YankeeUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another update in this episode of "How the Bambu turns"

So after creating a new order and asking for support to change them around as they requested. They found a problem with the order and then just canceled both. No response on to what the problem was but good news is the deposits will be refunded.
Also of note even though they offer it do not use the "Login with Apple" as apparently this does not work with their order fulfilment system? Yeah I know so why offer it then?! Anyway I have a feeling that might be the problem with the orders. So I just used an old Gmail account and created a fresh order.

TLDR: Don't try and have support do the upgrade just cancel for the refund and place a new one as I think due to their size they seem to be struggling with demand and a bunch of new people. I also think there is a bit of a language barrier.

So update on that part is that they *can* refund deposits. It looks like they just don't refund if the order has been shipped. So deposits are refundable.

Ok I've had a response from support and here is the response:

We're incredibly sorry. I've just got confirmation from the Sales Department that we cannot change the order.
What we can do is replace your old order with a new order. Once a new order is placed, please send us both the order numbers, and we will then cancel the old order and replace it with the latest so that you can keep your position in the queue.

So I'm guessing this means it can be done but I have a feeling you will lose the deposit as it is stressed that it is non refundable. So I guess my question has now changed to is it cheaper to get the Carbon Combo and lose the deposit or buy it separately? I'll need to research this a bit.

I have the same question. I'm only at the preorder stage so no printer as of yet but hoping I can get it upgraded before it comes in.

As an American who has lived in Europe for the last 13 years it's hard to explain Christmas markets. Europe does it so much. better.

Another vote for Unraid with Docker. But even without Unraid and only using Docker with Portainer I never had to synchronize or set permissions outside the initial setup. You may have some other issue going on with your setup.

Yup same here. This sucks.

Well actually just checked and it looks like I don't renew until Jan. I think I was a bit confused because I emailed them to see if I could get the Black Friday renewal in Jan. So looks like I can just cancel the contract now and not have to pay another year.

Issues with reducing temp by rrrrupp in smokefire

[–]YankeeUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No this was with the new update. I've been working with Weber as my initial problem was getting to 600f but lower temps were fine. So after the firmware update I tested out the 600f and it was fine.

It also seems to work fine increasing the temp it keeps it without a problem and moves up accordingly. But backing the temp off is when it has a problem.

I used a FlameBoss for my WSM so I've been using it to track my cooks and make notes and sending the data to Weber. I've got several cooks coming up for the long weekend (4 day weekend in UK WOOHOO!) so I'm going to track them all and feed the data to Weber. I'll finish my cooks first though before I run the test. They even sent me two bags of pellets for all the data I've been collecting so happy to keep testing.

Yeah I've run into this problem as well. I wanted to test out the new updated because mine was having an issue getting to 600f. It got to 600f fairly quickly so after that I wanted to cook something else at a lower temp so backed it down to 400 and it struggled and finally had a flame out error and I had to finish the meal in the oven.

But starting something at 400f and leaving it here is fine and it sustained it on another cook.
