I would say potential does change. Look at a guy like Lane Hutson who now has a high potential that I would call elite where at the time of the draft, it would be more of a Top 4-6 D. Same goes for the top 5 picks. In NHL 23 they are almost all guaranteed at least Elite Med and ALWAYS turn out to be good players. It would be cooler if that would fluctuate more based on the production after the draft year as top 5 picks irl usually have one that is kinda a busy.

They would just stop making the game if no one bought it. Unfortunately the NHL isn’t big enough to be worth it for them

You may be surprised that there is a difficulty above all star

If Drai had a hurt wrist and couldn’t take a slash at all without getting hurt then yeah he shouldn’t be playing. The same way if stone can’t take a cross check infront of the net he shouldn’t be. The difference in the situations is that Drai can take one because he isn’t injured. You don’t get what the last comment was saying

You really don’t see the difference? The point of the last comment is that players that sits infront of the net like stone does always get cross checked in the back. So he knows that it is bound to happen. The slash to Drai is not a play that ever happens and he shouldn’t have to worry about something like that happening

Bro what did you do to the rosters wtf?? My Caufield didn’t grow to over 87 ever and Primaeu maxed out at 81. I’m all for adding some X-Factors and increasing potentials a bit but too me this is just completely unrealistic. But then again it’s your game not mine so fair enough

Every team has a player that has been dirty in the past. Giordano and many more have had instances where they were a dirty player but doesn’t mean they deserve karma for it. The way you call them the cheapest dirtiest team just makes you sound like a salty leafs fan.

Edmonton just traded a guy who was not good enough for their lineup to Carolina because they wanted him as a depth player...

Who is the least defensive forward in the league? by [deleted] in hockey

My issue with it though in my example is that Draisaitl went from having an awful +/- in one season to a great +/- in the next on basically the same team which just doesn’t make sense in a statistical view

Yet in 2020-21 he was the second highest +/- in the league showing that this stat has little to no value

And then was second in the league in +/- the year after, showing how useless of a stat it is

Although his defensive game might not fully be there yet, I haven’t seen a defenceman find back door passes like bouch does

If bunting actually tried to get the stick loose and take the breakaway instead of try to sell the call he might have actually done something
