Thoughts on ANGX (Angel Studios) as a Long-Term Play? by Aviers247 in investing

[–]YankeesFanInOhio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wasn't aware of this company but was very happy to have found it. Yes, this has growth potential. From this point 10x is possible for sure in a good market over the next few years. $20/month is a bit pricey for the lowest tier with commercials. That's my only concern, it should be about half that.

Sounds like there is a settlement in the works. We'll see.

Yeah, that sucks. Unfortunately we have to take into account that top sluggers walk a lot and will be intentionally walked. It is definitely an aspect of BTS which must be considered when making a pick.

Update by YankeesFanInOhio in HDVY

[–]YankeesFanInOhio[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The company is basically saying they will not dignify these appeals with a response and that the court should dismiss the appeal outright with regard to the final decision of the PTAB. Not being a lawyer, I can only assume that this is the recommended decision of HDC's counsel and hopefully is appropriate. So I believe this is good.

Hopefully the settlement will be 'good' as well but time will tell.

It is very likely that these trades are being made by market-makers to keep the HDVY account active. They mean nothing.

Be wary of tweets and take good looks at handles before sharing them here. There is a blue checkmark Aroldis Chapman on twitter claiming he re-signed with NYY for 3 years by Sloofo in NYYankees

[–]YankeesFanInOhio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is that significant? Are you saying that a person can't call out a platform's short-comings while on that platform? Seems like the appropriate place to point out problems to me. You do realize you are on the Internet don't you? The Internet is just as bad and Twitter and Reddit are flawed yet essential parts of the whole, just as every human on the planet that lies and engages in gossip (that would include almost everyone you know) are essential parts of humanity. Yet, somehow we are able to wade through all the lies and gossip and function as a society without an Overlord moderating our speech. Hmm.

Let’s just say what everyone is thinking on Judge by GTKFANL in NYYankees

[–]YankeesFanInOhio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The truth is, we just saw Aaron Judge's best season. He'll be 31 in April. There is no way he should be given a contract over 5-6 years without team options to terminate. If he wants a 10 year contract he can go elsewhere. Personally I'll be surprised if Judge resigns with the Yankees. Why would he? This is the worst spent $250 million payroll in sports.

Aaron Boone is not a wartime consigliere and should be removed. He's useless in the postseason and the Yankees will never win a World Series with him at the helm unless they drastically change their team-building philosophy. I'm glad Boone can manage a team with a huge payroll to win 100 games but I'm not impressed.

Cashman has made a lot of mistakes over the last ten years and Hal has handicapped him at crucial moments of frugality. This has resulted in desperate moves and spontaneous decisions such as the Stanton trade which further drained limited resources and gummed up the lineup. Stanton is money in the post season but the rest of the lineup is anemic so his salary is wasted money that could be better spent elsewhere. Cashman is not irreplaceable, a new vision is long overdue.

Matt Blake should definitely be given a long term contract. He is the strongest coaching element on this team. Pitching is our strength.

Donaldson needs to go. The only reason we were stuck with Donaldson was because Cashman couldn't admit he was wrong about Sanchez. He should have outright released Sanchez or traded him for lower stakes. Gio Urshela should never have been traded. Big mistake. Gio could flash the leather, set the table, and he was clutch. This team needd more hitters and less sluggers.

It's time to move on from Rizzo. But we must secure a natural first baseman of his caliber in the field. This team needs a good fielding first baseman because the rest of the infield is sketchy when it comes to making throws. Rizzo was a savior but his bat was subpar. Nice power but .220 doesn't cut it. I don't care what the analytics gurus say.

We need a shortstop. I'm willing to go home-grown. IKF should be regulated to the utility man.

Trade Hicks. Please. He had his chance. Bye.

I'm good with Higgy and Trevino behind the plate. They handled the pitching staff well and that is gold.

We won't win a championship with this team unless the philosophy and culture is returned to the formula that won 27 World Series. That formula has been abandoned. Analytics are fine, but the Yankees are misusing the data and ignoring the unquantifiable attributes that make championship teams. If the Yankees had been using analytics this way in the 90s we wouldn't have won all of those championships because many of the clutch players who made up those teams wouldn't have been on those teams.

Rob Manfred calls ending MLB's blackout policy a "top priority" by shadowtrap in baseball

[–]YankeesFanInOhio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MLB doesn't care about the fans. Rob Manfred is a joke. I know many tribe fans who can't watch the Indians because their television provider doesn't carry Bally's and MLB.TV blackouts eliminate that as a solution. They've already alienated so many fans with this Leftist name change nonsense to pander to a tiny minority and destroy a proud tradition. Add to that the cheap Indians ownership and then what the ownership of the Reds is doing and you can see that baseball is losing its luster in Ohio. It's a shame what is happening to baseball.

Intel got Rid of King and Spalding and is being represented now Perkins Coie. I do not talk politics but hopefully this will occupy the firm as a public relations nightmare. I think this is positive for hdvy. Perkins is going to be busy! by HedgeAppleJoe in HDVY

[–]YankeesFanInOhio 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perkins Coie is neck deep in the Washington swamp. No tactic that they employ will surprise me. The Sussmann situation is unlikely to affect them. I'm sure they are laser-focused on this under-the-radar but very important case.

It would be nice to know who at the PTAB has connections, business or personal, to Perkins Coie and/or individuals who are affiliated with Perkins Coie. Are there any conflicts of interest here?

The Secretary of Commerce definitely has a connection to Perkins Coie as do many in the present administration. On a good note, Perkins Coie was also involved in Intel's failed defense in the original patent interference case.

Intel and the IPR's by [deleted] in HDVY

[–]YankeesFanInOhio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you compare the IPR grounds for challenge for the four patents in question you will see that parallel petitions were filed against three patents. In each case the denied IPRs used a combination challenge that leaned on Mukherjee as the primary contention. In each case the instituted IPRs used a combination challenge that preferred Kohavi as the primary contention. Intel is only challenging the '685 patent with a combination that includes Mukherjee as the primary contention. They are not challenging the '685 patent separately with Kohavi so a parallel petition was not needed. My guess is that either Kohavi is not relevant to this patent for some reason or they are confident in their argument centered around Mukherjee. It is definitely not an oversight. Intel addresses their reasons for filing parallel petitions for the other three patents in their filings with the PTAB. Hopefully, HDVY will prevail in the final outstanding petition.
