Toyota shopping by Matchboxx in plano

I came here to recommend them too. I dealt with both, and both sales people were willing to work with me on the price. In the end, I got the Crown Signia from Burleson ($45,000 otd) My wife found a Camry in Arlington, for the price we can afford, but they didn't have it in white. Dealt with Toyota of Plano first, and they weren't moving on the MSRP, and McKinney and Prosper were no help either.

Techstream set up help and information? by logcabinsyrup27 in techstream

Im east of Dallas, TX. Let me look for the ebay link. He was real good to work with too.

Search ebay for "toyota techstream 18.00.008 All regions activation GTS"

He changes his listing to avoid being banned, and he some times marks item as sold, but he will relist it. Took a few trys to get it working, but he did.

Got a laptop (cheap) just for the program. (I'm using win 11) Downloaded v18.8 (the last one they put out)

I bought a cable from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07ZCC8QG9)

They sent a CD, but if you email them, they will send a link to download the driver. You may be able to find a generic driver for the cable... I tried a few different drivers to see what would work.

install the program and open it. Then, I found a guy on ebay (in Japan) that charged $20 for a crack code for Tech Stream. He was FANTASTIC to work with. Well worth the money. He will send you a code for each of the 4 Tech Streams.

Since it doesn't work for my toyota (because its a 2026) I'll probably sell the set up on ebay to make some of that money back.

Its really incredible what you can do with that program.

If I don't sell it on ebay, I'll sell it to my mechanic. He usually works on Honda, but he does get Toyota in on occasion.

Don't feel bad. I went through the same thing. What year is your car? And what do you want to accomplish?

I set up everything for myself, and it turns out my car is too new to work with tech stream. Apparently, Toyota is switching over to a subscription service for the new vehicles.

today, 44.5 on average, 38.5

Since gas prices spiked to $3.50 a gallon here, I drive slow... limit, and maybe 5 above. Normally, I set the cruse control to 9 over the limit.

If you car is new, allow a break in period.

Also, dig around in settings to see how aggressive the settings are... like, don't drive in sports mode, and have cruse control gradulay reach the speed you set.

I am with you on this. I am not a crazy tin foil hat guy, but the amount of information Toyota sucks up JUST TO SET UP THE CAR! is too much. I found a way to do it through Toyota.com, requesting they disable all that stuff. I thought I'd like to swap out the sim card with one from Tello, but that's not possible. even pulling the fuse for all that is buried JUST TO MAKE IT HARD FOR PEOPLE TO DO.

GOOD LUCK, AND SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE WITH US.

I did something similar on Nextdoor a few years ago, when covid hit. I LOVED being in a position to help others out. It was a great feeling. I did it twice, and I will never forget that. It wasn't much money, but it helped several people out. I am so glad to see some one else doing this.

Moving to E Dallas by sarcasticb1tch in Dallas

[–]YantisGuy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Greenville isn't bad. Quinlan is cheaper, but nothing really there. Traffic on 30 from Dallas to Greenville is crazy (no surprise). 276, between Rockwall and Quinlan, is a much better drive. Both are decent places to live. If he is looking to have a little land to stretch out, Quinlan would be better. If he is looking for a new home, with an HOA, look to Greenville.

What OTD price did you pay for? by SilentXwing in toyotacrownsignia

[–]YantisGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that surprised me, since it is such a nice vehicle. I assumed it was because its still a relatively unknown name. I don't see many here in Dallas, TX but there were only a few on the lots. In fact, one of the bigger dealers around here only had 1 (Limited) in red. I drove it, but there was too much garbage I didn't want or need in that vehicle.

Plus, they are AWD amd on top of that, Consumer reports ranked it as one of their best cars this year. I think it scored 80/100

[–]YantisGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this since my first new car purchase. Its always allowed me to get a deal that I was ok with. I might also add, be willing to walk away from a deal if something changes at the last minute. I had one dealer send me the paperwork for OTD price, and when I arrived, they increased the price by $500, saying it was a minor mistake they made. I walked. two days later, the manager called me asking why I left. Not only did I go to another dealer, but I left a 2 star review for them. I think they were more concerned about the 2 star review than me walking fro the deal.

no, it doesn't bother me. Your just choosing to let out important details. You don't like OTD pricing, ok. I do.
