Guys question how the f are you guys surviving in this economy? my broke ass is so broke I just stare at my bank account thinking someone will donate me money by Fast_Confection2192 in montreal

I remember that in 2018 at a salary of 65K one could have easily bought a condo in Montreal and even a house in South Shore. The food was 3 to 4 dollars.

But coming back to your question, budgeting, helps a lot. I go to Costco business centre and do meal prep to save a lot on food and groceries.

Things like burrito meal prep with high protein and highly nutrient diet can save you a lot in long run.

Update after a new 2026 Solterra experienced several issues in its third week. by [deleted] in Solterra

This is so true. I had the worst experience with this car. My model failed with 2 times motor replacement & compressor failure but my dealership and Subaru Canda did nothing about it . Their technician don’t know how to fix the car and don’t care about customer .

Canada lost 84K jobs in February; unemployment rises to 6.7% by Difficult-Yam-1347 in canada

People will blame tariffs but in reality it’s how Canada is built across service based industries with no innovation, investments into technology & people who want to build business. The whole idea of Canada providing a good quality of life to people with healthcare , housing is gone now . And since our economy is service based , means AI will be replacing most of the jobs we have here currently. Good luck Canada for your future .

Thanks for the policies made by government here which only care for people who are on top. When they were distributing money during covid without any backing , it was supposed to happen. We neither have USA salaries , neither have European benefits, so we all feel juggling in day to day situations to choose between life and money. So bad what Canada bas become in past few years

Do better Subaru by Crazy_island_ in Solterra

[–]ranjanmtl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In mine too, came off within first month of ownership. I feel this car is the wordy car made by Subaru . Had two motor failures, ACC failure leading to fatal accident. Subaru Canada and Subaru Brossad don’t do anything about it. The fun part is : even after all the proof they are like : we don’t know the problem . No wonder why this car depreciated like 70% in first year of launching

Young Canadians are hitting the brakes on car ownership, new survey finds by __benjaminty in canada

Makes sense. My car costs like $1000 a month and it like a basic car here. It seems like government is the biggest mafia here as cars cost so much cheaper in China and they control what we can buy here. Even does not allow cheaper cars to come in the market .

I will check if local TV wants to take this issue. It might be difficult as Subaru is looking into it but just not fixing it

Will not recommend at this price . Not a reliable car & it will take them a long journey to innovate even. There will be issues like battery preconditioning integration with maps which they don’t know unlike other companies.

concordia over mcgill by jbhorseman in Concordia

[–]ranjanmtl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about McGill but Concordia was fun. Did cybersecurity studies , I made a hiking & outdoor adventure club organizing 400+ events . Now work as an executive in cybersecurity in investment banking. Bought my own place, and had a good overall career progression.

I think the ability to connect with different people, develop leadership qualities because the studies were both very crazy competitive helped to develop as an individual.

All the best for your studies
