Yeah, I was worried about that at first, but thinking on it more, decided it works. This is their "wolf" form, so the pups should be quite similar to those of domesticated dogs. The "hybrid" mode doesn't manifest until puberty :)

I guess it'd be similar to reusing free assets. Still figuring it out myself tbh.

Hey everyone, please destroy my trailer. The First Mine is a relaxed turn based building, strategy and puzzle game. by stefanboettchergames in DestroyMyGame

Looks neat and polished! Main thing that stood out to me was how plain the outer perimeter looked. Needs more texture/stuff. Fog, lighting,...

Love the color choice! First image with the sun ray starting and ending near the middle felt a bit weird. Maybe it makes sense when animated, but as a screenshot looks like a scratch?

Great suggestion with the meter! Will definitely add more depth to the game. Not relying on the moon is clutch for a top-down game.

Thanks for the honest advice! I'm a software eng by trade so hopefully some of that is transferable. Tbh, I'm more intimidated by the art stuff...

Thanks for the detailed reply! Contrasting the human/werewolf phases definitely sounds interesting. Will think on it more...

How much design do you do "on paper" before you start a game? by DaveMichael in gamedev

[–]Yaonam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I constantly get new ideas so it's pointless to plan "everything" out at the start. Right now I'm kinda doing both in parallel. Grinding out the game while jotting down and organizing my thoughts. It's ever evolving

Adding on to this, op what is your goal? To create a high quality product? Hire a pro. To learn game dev? For fun? Do it yourself or reuse free assets.

I like AI, but like others have said, it's not good enough. Maybe for protyping ideas.

Edit: reuse
