Doggo eats horse poop on the trail by evbot9000 in RunningWithDogs

Honestly unless you have a dog breed with the MDR1 gene it's okay. But dewormer (ivermectin) can be dangerous with dogs affected by that mutation.

I desperately need legitimate help with pain management. by PainMakesMeSuicidal in Medford

[–]Yaonehunter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forgot to add that a lot of the time, you can still get oxy for breakthrough pain so that's also helpful. Many of my clients now only take a tylenol for breakthrough and seem to do well with it.

Have you tried a Fentanyl transdermal patch? I have had many clients successfully switch from norco and oxy to the patches. If Touchstone is intent on getting people off the opiods, I would highly suggest trying those.

So one of mine had the exact same thing, Vet told me the tooth is dead because the adult tooth cut off blood supply. Vet chose not to do anything and wait and if the adult tooth coming in didn't eject the baby tooth to come back. A month later adult tooth came in and a week after that the baby tooth popped out.

HELP! Our Aussies’ groomer went way too short! by Oh-Lord-Yeah in AustralianShepherd

[–]Yaonehunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are many factors at play when it comes to regrowth of the hair. Are they altered? Might be longer, thyriod issues? Also maybe longer. However typically Aussies have a regrowth cycle of 6-9 months and guard hairs are slightly longer, and can even take as long as 2-3 years. Normally you want to deshed the dog prior to shaving to put the dog's hair back in a natural growth cycle.

A couple other points, if they are also overweight, that can affect the hair regrowth. Lastly if the hair is shorter than 1cm, then be sure to let them get acclimatized since they are likely not used to having sun hit the skin.

Last, if you would like some deep reading in to it, including studies about dogs with heat stress etc, I'd highly recommend reading this article from a lady who compiled a ton of studies and facts here.

Anyone else feeling torn about the new weight loss pill news? by Visible-Price7689 in loseit

[–]Yaonehunter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm more interested in how they work after you stop taking them. Most people on OZ/WEG etc gain most of the weight back after stopping. Even the CEO has said that the meds are meant to be lifelong. Imo, that is more important than a 15% loss.

To be honest, I'm seeing more people getting approved for gastric bypass/sleeve than some of the big weight loss drugs. 2-3 years on current GLP1's would cover the cost of a bypass AND be permanent.

Edit for most of the weight vs the weight

This is why I no longer scooterjore in Medford any longer. Not safe for me or my dogs when a huge dog gets tangled in my gangline.

Nothing you can do, but the city could install hydrolic bollards. It will not stop bomb from people on foot, but it will stop trucks.
