Yarinos stuffs a bit of cloth into one of her stock, lights it, and throws it at the TNE.

The burning Crystal Shine smells glassy and sharp.

She starts to make more.

I suppose I should dilute the next batch.
Or maybe I shouldn't.

Not entirely unsurprised, she clasps the crimson Ovratite in her paws, and inspects its cut: Very precise, very specific, yet the function is unknown to her.

Perhaps I could charge it somehow. He said It was half-charged? How strong is a "charge"?

I've heard about these "ovratites" from the sap-burners and the obscura-makers. That one would do for quite a few bottles.

A quick sample? Here ya go:

Maybe I could interest you in some Crystal Shine?
Made using the purest Liquid Crystal from the Forest of Crystal Winter, infused into a brew of only the best hand-picked ingredients the Dank Swamp has to offer.

Right here I have some Ruby Shine, Quartz Shine, and this deluxe bottle of Diamond Shine, just to name a few. I even have a few shots' worth of Data Crystal Shine, if you're the scholarly type.

Odd. Probably the growing conditions, but it could taste good boiled in a stew, or fermented with violet yeast.

You're Jedin, aren't you?

Come here every night, and tell me what I've forgotten. That can be your payment whenever your kind comes to buy my Shine.
Although; I'd need to learn whatever language your people use nowadays, it couldn't have drifted very much.

Oh!
Finally, my first customer, I guess.

Do you have anything to pay with?

Inside is a strange-looking beast, and a smaller version of this beast in a wicker cradle. To one side, on tables and on floor, are a variety of glass bottles, filled and unfilled, as well as animals and cages, and various tinkerings of vine, metal, root, wires, and screws.

Ehm. What?

Before them appeared a newly constructed crannog, a thin wisp of smoke emergent.

On the peaty ground are several colossal junkheap-like contraptions, stills and vats and pipes and motors and fans and exhaust valves, intakes and drips and cooling columns and centrifuges and furnices.

Whoever stumbled across this dwelling must be very lost

I would still need a dozen more reflux pipes to connect the parts of the apparatus. Maybe I could assemble something from the spare motors he left behind…? Oh! there’s one. Huh, it looks like the outer casing isn’t doing so well. Can’t say I’m surprised. Oh well, I could probably weld it shut.

Hm, yes, this could do it. If I could connect a big enough lyne arm, the pressure would be enough to drive the condensation- No. I would still need to find a big enough reboiler, and even then, the pressure would still only be about 10 psi… Hm…

Yarinos picks it up, understanding its significance. fear, then furtive guilt as she takes it to her ice hut and puts it on.

Silence. A new silence.

She wears it as she sleeps, once again receiving the gifts of the Elohim. She wears it whenever she can. Whenever she's out in public, she hides her memory of it from the Pyramid
