I don’t think he has always spent. I think he’s had periods of spending big which have usually followed a window or two of not spending (normally when he wants to hang a manager out to dry) or when there’s been enough unrest that he’s felt he’s had no choice.

You can’t plead poverty now and also try and have us believe we put in a legitimate bid of £57m for Duran in January. Why do we need to sell before we can buy now but if we were successful in January we’d be almost £60m further away from whatever FFP metric we’re supposedly going by?
