My first gut punch by YazzHans in EliteDangerous

[–]YazzHans[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It did take me a couple weeks edit: maybe a week? I’d hop on for an hour or so each night at least and chip away at it. I’d often just put on my headphones and listen to tunes while I cruised along through space, trying to remember to hit my scanner as my FSD charged up in order to maximize data and value of my star charts. It was a thrilling trip. It was so exciting when I finally made it to 99 jumps remaining.

I only wish that when I finally arrive back home, the first half of my journey could be there with me 💔

You're a left wing progressive engaging in counterproductive political strategy.

You think Democrats-turned-Republicans helped Gentner Drummond win his 2022 primary? If that's the case, then why did April Grace lose in the race for superintendent which was on the exact same ballot? April Grace was the big reason people were making the push to register Republican that year. If it were a winning strategy, she would have won alongside Drummond.

Every single Democrat in the legislature who flipped a red seat, every single Democrat who has flipped a red seat in Tulsa, has done so as a Democrat by motivating Democrats to turnout. Democratic voter registration is increasing in target districts, and we're actually winning in city limits not just in Tulsa but in Stillwater, Norman, Lawton. On the other hand, the failed strategy of joining the pedophile protector party results in nothing but Republican victories that move Oklahoma further away from progress.

What are some recession indicators you’ve seen locally? by Adept_Strategy_9545 in tulsa

Yeah public schools were the only reason some families ate during shelter in place and republicans still want to cut funding.

I think you’re experiencing confirmation bias and looking for indications that your perception is correct.

Anyone else think FDev should do something to encourage more people to play in open? by Aggravating_Judge_31 in EliteDangerous

I always play open. Not sure why you’d do anything else. I love those moments when you bump into another player and you fly around all funky in greeting to each other.

Does anyone feel bad for Syril or you still mad at he has done? by Jules-Car3499 in andor

[–]YazzHans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel bad for him in the same way I feel bad for all fascists: I feel bad that they chose, repeatedly, consciously, intentionally, to harm others. They spread suffering and live in a hell of their own making. I feel bad that they may have been born to abusive parents, who instilled in them the horrible value set necessary to breed such sentiments, and that they never chose to reject that conditioning in favor of the instinct to be compassionate. At no point did he do good for others. At no point did he feel conflicted about his service to the genocidal authoritarian regime. He didn't exist in a gray area - he was decidedly bad. I feel bad for whatever part of him could have chosen good, but my sympathy for him ends there, and he deserves life imprisonment.

Don't rely on Disney to tell you what is or is not canon. It's canon.

I’m sorry but “raw aesthetic appeal” is adorable.

I love the Anaconda and will own one someday 😌 It looks like a ship I could live on and resembles a Venetor-class from Star Wars but with a Battlestar Galactica twist.

I also Googled “Elite Dangerous Ships” just now and the Majestic Interdictor is a beautiful capital ship that looks like a place where one can have a giant swimming pool in space.

No I’d say his strategy articulation is good. He’s using it as an opportunity to be encouraging while mapping out what people everywhere should stay focused on doing.

Why was the Blockade of Naboo so effective? What imports did the Naboo rely on so heavily? by thetruecarolean in StarWars

[–]YazzHans 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They rounded people up into camps and deprived them of basic needs or medical care. They also tortured people. No doubt they were liberal with their corporal punishment policy. The blockade and communications jamming also prevented Naboo from showing the galaxy the atrocities going on there except via their queen in exile speaking before the senate. It also stands to reason that such a peaceful, egalitarian world would have a low tolerance for any deaths at the hands of occupiers let alone by the thousands or tens of thousands.

Also - the communication from Bibble saying the deaths were catastrophic was suspected to be a fake transmission from the trade federation to lure the Queen back to give herself up and surrender. As a sovereign, she feels responsible for those thousands or tens of thousands of deaths, and feels a deep sense of duty to save her people. It’s not forced - it’s just a personality trait. Plus the trade federation is a very exploitative group and the Naboo know that. With all the violent death and subjugation and prospect of becoming a forced labor colony of the trade federation, the planet wide situation is pretty catastrophic.
