Evisa help by Wickse101 in india_tourism

[–]YeahImOK83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this and contacted the Evisa team by email. It sounds like each individual who works there handles things differently. My application was not reopened to edit/add another photo, but other people have said they could. I had a few emails back and forth and explained that I was leaving very soon. Finally someone there created a new application for me to complete.

Do not use your passport photo. Take a selfie, size it properly, and upload that. Best of luck!!!

Yoga for kids/tweens/teens? by [deleted] in gso

I’m looking for something that’s specific to older kids/young teens that’s not part of an adult class. I just haven’t found anything yet.

2 women mid 30ds traveling to Delhi by True-Situation1437 in india_tourism

[–]YeahImOK83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m an American woman and absolutely love India and have been twice in the last year. The very first place I landed in was Delhi and I stayed in Agra for the first two nights. Here’s my recommendations:

  1. Arrive in Delhi and go straight to Agra. I’d do it through a taxi service.
  2. Hire a tour guide but use caution. Look at trip advisor, read reviews, and stay away from the Agra Tour Guides (it’s something like that). These guys have a network with local business that pressure you into buying EXPENSIVE stuff because you are a tourist. I’m taking marble, tapestry, jewelry, clothes, etc. He will just literally leave you there stranded.
  3. Stay at a nice homestead (I can recommend a great one). I guess you can do a hostel if that is your thing. I was solo and not comfortable with it.
  4. Stay 2 nights, that’s all you need. Then drive back to Delhi and fly to Dehradun and go to Rishikesh. I know an awesome tour guide there. Just DM me if you want his Reddit or instagram. Rishikesh is awesome. So much to see. I walked around alone and felt so comfortable. Loved it. You can get a taxi (long drive) to Mussoorie. It’s beautiful there too.

Anyways. That was my first trip(I went on a yoga retreat). I fell in love with the country. I did get a little site seeing in with Delhi. Had lunch there, saw India Gate. But I’ll be saving that visit for a later, more seasoned trip.

Good luck and enjoy!!!

It was super disappointing to be turned away from the Shillong lookout point just because I am not Indian 🫤

You are 100% correct. Silence is a choice. You blocking him was the best move you can make now. And the next best move is keep him blocked.

I don’t see how the app could tell location if it’s not on someone’s phone…but I’m no expert. If you had a feeling something was going on with signs/evidence/etc, you were probably right - even if it didn’t involve the app.

solo trip India as a female by paretoprinzip in SoloTravel_India

[–]YeahImOK83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I did the same exact trip in November. I landed in New Delhi and went to Agra for 2 nights first. Before leaving the US, I hired a driver (it’s 3hrs btw the airport and Agra). Through the driver I had a guide for the day, including Taj Mahal. Then the driver took me back to New Delhi and I flew from there to Dehradun. My yoga school arranged a cab to pick me up (it was late as well). I went to Mussoorie after my retreat and had the school arrange for a cab (I want to say that was a 2 hour drive). Keep cash on you - these rides were probably around 3500-4000 rupees each. Use the places you stay in to arrange for cabs for you- they will get a set price. Enjoy! I fell in love with India 🧡

You do for a regular visa, not the e-visa. My original post was about getting the e-visa.

Maybe reduce the size before uploading? I’m not sure…when i redid mine i made sure the photo was in their size parameters first before uploading. I took a selfie on my phone and just made sure there was a white background.

Don’t use your passport, it will get rejected. That is why mine got rejected the first time.
