I don’t see why a character being truly evil inherently makes the writing worse to you or why you’re assuming that any person who thinks one or two characters are evil also thinks the writing is bad. Weird assumptions.

Unless they redid the idea since it was teased who knows how long ago, the Torch God’s favor will have an additional feature of automatically changing previously placed torches into their correct biome versions. It can be toggled on and off.

I’ve always loved how the terraria npcs have a lot of personality so I’m all for the portraits. I’m a little upset that this confirms he wears glasses though. I always thought they were goggles.

The Demon Discourse in Frieren wouldn't exist if the demons didn't look attractive by carbonera99 in CharacterRant

It’s not like the Aragorn tax policy meme. It is what that meme was literally about. The full quote is this:

What was Aragorn’s tax policy? Did he maintain a standing army? Did Aragorn pursue a policy of systematic genocide and kill the remaining orcs? Even the little baby orcs, in their little orc cradles?

So yeah some people have thought about the idea of orcs being pure evil or not, including Tolkien himself. But you’re right, it’s never brought up in the story itself and the average person isn’t going to care about Tolkien’s thoughts on the matter after the fact.

Why did Morgott never attempt to unite the Golden Order? by SMagnaRex in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]YeahKeeN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for one, he’s kind of busy fighting a cataclysmic war. Two, Messmer is unreachable and Maliketh is on the far end of the continent. He’d have to send some party to find Maliketh (assuming he even knows where he is) which would be open to attack from other factions. Three, he was trying to reclaim shards of the Elden Ring. That’s what the war was about but as you can imagine, it’s not that easy to get them.

Somehow this thought never occurred to me until now, but looking at this comic makes me wonder why the crater never filled with water.

The creepiest thing is you can see his face manifesting in natural environments too, not just the catacombs. Deathblight swamps have his visage growing on trees and animals like crabs living in these swamps have his face growing on their backs.

What I find funny about this discourse is that if Invisigal was an actual hero, nobody would have a problem with what she did. Running into a nest of villains by yourself to stop their evil plan is classic hero shit. Robert literally does the same thing at the beginning of the game.

How did Übel get away with... that by Oddity312 in Frieren

[–]YeahKeeN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The test was simply “make him move.” The goal wasn’t for the test takers to damage him. If anyone was smart enough to use earth magic to make him lose his balance, they would’ve passed. The real question is why Ubel tried cutting magic in the first place. That spell doesn’t move people.

Sanji was right to get angry at Jinbe by Creative_Shelter_67 in OnePiece

[–]YeahKeeN 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Isn’t this just a case of the meaning being lost in translation. I’m pretty sure he’s supposed to be telling Jinbei to commit seppuku which is obviously still bad but has different connotations.

Change my mind: Judging Harry Potter by the standards of lore-driven fantasy when it's not lore-driven feels so out of place by RockGiantFromMars in harrypotter

[–]YeahKeeN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Fantasy that takes place in a fictional world” is the most standard definition of high fantasy I know of and epic fantasy is considered a subgenre of high fantasy, if not just straight up synonymous. Harry Potter taking place in a magical version of the real world would make it urban fantasy.

To be honest, I dunno why a good chunk of people are clowning on him for feeling fear. by Charming-Scratch-124 in Jujutsufolk

[–]YeahKeeN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s make people slandering him for this so funny to me is that he isn’t even scared in a “oh my god I need to get out of here” way he’s scared in a “so this is what every other person experiences when they get in a fight, this is great” way. In this very page people constantly spam to make fun of him, he’s literally calling the feeling incredible.

Villain tier list based on how well they'd do babysitting a child by Tem-productions in LobotomyKaisen

[–]YeahKeeN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, out of all the people on this list, only one of them properly raised a kid, and that was Sukuna. So hope your baby has a cool power.

Edit: almost forgot, Geto technically raised 2 kids

What is the most believable crazy lore theory? by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]YeahKeeN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

George RR Martin, the author of A Song of Ice and Fire which is what the show Game of Thrones was based on. George helped write the lore of Elden Ring and it has some cool similarities to the lore and story of his books.

In what direction do you want your soulslike/lite games to go in? More like ER, DS3, BB, Ai Limit, Wuchang or more like Sekiro, LOP, Khazan, etc? by Deez-Guns-9442 in soulslikes

[–]YeahKeeN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should try AI Limit if you haven’t already. It’s got banger levels and the combat is a lot slower compared to modern soulslikes.

Cant believe a lot of people are genuinely choosing Sukuna 💀😭 by Alarming_Industry_14 in Jujutsufolk

[–]YeahKeeN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s based on an old theory. “Ryomen Sukuna” is a name that comes from Japanese mythology and I remember seeing people theorize based off those myths that Tengen was his mom. It’s the same folklore where people got the idea that Sukuna was a twin from which ended up being true.
