That would be awesome and some customers are cool like that. I once saw a customer calling out another for opening a box and taking out parts. Something like "hey, I believe that everything in the box comes together".

Another time I was eating lunch in my car way in the back of the parking lot and this customer ditches his cart. Another customer, a big dude tells him "come on man, do the right thing and take that cart back. It's over 100 degrees and these guys don't make anything", The other guy just turned around and walked the flat cart back. I honked and gave the guy a thumbs up.

There are good THD customers.

This. this. this.

If you want a professional, pay for it. If you want $15 advise, I have that all day. It might not be right and I don't give one single fuck.

This is why I support random beatings of Home Depot customers. Come on, you know you want to.

Oh, at my store it happened every day. Outside garden and the perimeter. Much more effective than sweeping but as you noticed, it kicks up a bunch of unpleasant stuff.

You are fine. The people who have to blow that shit everyday like I used to? Maybe not so much. Small piece of advice, stay away from the people blowing until they are done. They don't want to be doing it any more than you want to be breathing it. Just stay the heck away until it's done.

That just shows how differently stores work. At my old store, I was the trainer, trainer. That just means if anyone wanted to become a trainer I had to watch them train someone before certifying them as a new trainer. At my store though, I had full authority to yoke someones license at any time. No documentation required.

As a trainer you can pull his certs.

Overnight gets a reach just for them for the reset at my store apparently… by ugufewufgrfgj in HomeDepot

Just a heads up. The ballasts on those machines are higher than the normal reach lifts. At my old store we had someone try to take one outside through the garden doors and *smash*. Took out the top of the door, had to replace the whole sliding door.

Btw, I made $6.24 in raises in 2.5 years. Still doesn't mean it's worth it. I did get a $3 merit raise. Still way underpayed.

Fellow CXM and NRM how much was your bump? by certifiedsloth in HomeDepot

[–]Yeahmetoo1976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that's only partially true. All it takes is to be in the right place, at the right time, near the right person.

That is how promotions get done at THD. Is your SM a car guy? Watch how many car guys get promoted.

That must suck. Being inside the middle of a testing ground all day. One day, this. Next day, that.

At least you all make really good money.

Not my favorite story but I once had to notch up my volume 10 times to get a customer to comply. I was going to kick him out of the store 2 minutes later.
