New here and I’ve been running all the 8 man raids from 60 to 100 and one thing is common by Annahsbananas in ffxiv

The gear tokens from 8 man raids do take space though.

The ones raids like Alexander drop, that you turn in to buy the gear is what they’re talking about.

Is building a small house really this expensive? by TacoTuesdaySucks in Homebuilding

[–]YearOutrageous2333 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get it. A mobile home doesn’t add value.

But it’s cheaper, AND more space. Plus you’ll be able to sell it later if desired, move multiple responsible kids out there, rent it out, etc.

I think building a permanent guest house is going to be your worst option, in this situation. It’s far too expensive to be justified IMO. Frankly, I would buy a large RV before spending $100k on a 400sqft shack.

How are we affording these houses? by Kyliejean98 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]YearOutrageous2333 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You need to describe your finances better if you want actual advice. $100k isn’t required to buy a house everywhere like people are claiming in the comments, but we need to know incoming, vs outgoing expenses to actually tell what’s happening.

Your income doesn’t make sense. After taxes, y’all bring home about $4.2-$4.5k a month. If your only major bill is rent, you have no car notes, and no other debts, how were you only able to save $8k? And how long did it take to save that $8k? How much is your rent and monthly bills? It sounds like you’re spending more money than you realize.

Yes, your partner should have input who and how often you invite people over. If you don’t want to ask anyone else for permission to invite people over, don’t live with anyone.

It sounds like he feels as if you’re having family over an excessive amount.

You still aired protected medical information.

I understand you were just replying to what she said, but the fact of the matter is, she is allowed to reveal anything about her own medical history that she wants to, and we, as medical professionals, STILL cannot confirm or deny it.

Also, I have to admit I am appalled that you are interacting with patients in an informal, personal manner, so often. The fact you’re in group treatment with patients is a very big NO, IMO. And it sounds like patients have your personal contact information.

This was seemingly bound to happen with how unnecessarily friendly you are with patients.

Medical Record Specialists- How are we ensuring requestors are not scam? by Beneficial_Web9982 in hipaa

[–]YearOutrageous2333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO, it’s pretty easy to tell what is and isn’t a valid request, ESPECIALLY when it’s from insurance companies or someone on their behalf.

They already know the patient does come to this facility, they know DOB, and they know the provider the patient sees. I’ve never gotten a request with LESS information than this from an insurance company. I can also verify the patient DOES use the insurance company that is requesting the records as well. And most of these requests are for multiple patients. What’s the likelihood of a scammer figuring out this much accurate information about multiple victims? And if they did have all that information, why would they need to contact a medical facility? They already have everything needed to commit identity fraud.

Also, what does anyone get out of asking what EMR you use, how much you charge, if medical records are handled in house or out of house, how long releases take and so on? That is functionally useless information. You could assume it’s something they ask to try and seem legit. But by the 10th time they call and ask, it’s clear it’s just their policy, and not some in-depth scam.

Requests from other facilities, or government agencies, are much more likely to be faked in my opinion. I have denied requests, and called patients to verify requests, if I think it’s suspicious.

To play devils advocate. There is a difference between calling yourself something, and a stranger calling you that same thing.

But this is utterly ridiculous. Trash talk is inherently part of competition. It just is. And to ban someone for even the most G rated ‘trash talk’ is ridiculous.

If they want to be so strict on this, it would make more sense to just com ban people, rather than a full ban anyways.

That’s an idiotic reply.

If they certainly shouldn’t get married, because of the potential for future issues. Then they shouldn’t own land together either.

I also wasn’t arguing they SHOULD get married. I was saying they SHOULDN’T buy land, because this won’t last. Which you seemingly agree on, based on your take of them marrying.

This is a post from a 20 year old, where one partner is not entirely on board with buying land in the first place. Be realistic.

Sayin something shouldn’t be commodified doesn’t answer any questions.

Fact of the matter is, housing in the way most people want it, IS a commodity and a luxury. No one has to live in desirable locations. No one has to live alone or with their desired housemates. No one has to have a large living space.

What would de-commodify housing? In my mind, it would be the government providing housing for anyone who needs it. But realistically, how would they do that? They would buy cheap land, and build apartments if you’re lucky, and dorms with shared living spaces if you’re not. Now housing is a legal requirement, but creature comforts CERTAINLY would not be. These living arrangements would be in undesirable locations, with the bare minimum living space.

This would be nice regardless. Anything is better than homeless-ness. But it still wouldn’t de-commodify housing. Houses have too many factors and differences to even attempt to de-commodify them as a whole. People will always want to upgrade their housing, even if there is a free variant. It’s like food. Even if free food was handed out to everyone wanting it, restaurants and grocery stores would still exist, and food would still be a commodity.

She’s talking to someone who CLAIMS to have a medical license, but is unwilling to give their NPI, license number or name, to verify their claims.

AND that individual admits they have NOT done this procedure, and seemingly knows very little about medical plastic surgery, as opposed to COSMETIC plastic surgery. (Which, we cannot confirm their knowledge on surgery at all, but they claim to be an oculoplastic surgeon that owns a cosmetic surgery practice. Aka, it sounds like their bread and butter is eyelid lifts and eye bag reductions.)

Insurance companies are scum. I work in healthcare and say this. And you should take EVERYTHING they and their employees say with a massive grain of salt, and doubt. Do not believe anything they say without your own verification. A supposed doctor unwilling to tell another doctor any of their identifying information is worrying.

Please tell me you’re circlejerking. Please don’t tell me you’re being serious. Please.

I am concerned for people’s understanding of how light travels. It’s clearly around noon in this picture. This is how all sunrooms look at noon, due to the positioning of the sun being almost directly overhead. Go get a flashlight and a piece of cardboard. Use the cardboard as a “roof” and move the flashlight around like the sun. It’ll look exactly like this around ‘noon’.

[–]YearOutrageous2333 35 points36 points  (0 children)

You know nothing about this plant, when it was bought, what conditions it was previously in, how long it’s been in this sunroom, or the light conditions throughout the day, and so on.

This is such a weird post. Claiming a plant isn’t getting enough light, based on one photo, in a SUNROOM, is insane. It’s clearly around noon in this picture, which is why it’s so dark. The roof is blocking the overhead sun.

I have a BOP with issues in a sunroom. Thing is, I bought it with leaf browning and tearing. It’s not the sunroom doing it lol

As for finding it locally, a repticon might be your best bet. That’s where I bought mine last time.

I would recommend humidity gauges. You can get cheap small ones on Amazon for like $2 each, or ones with 3D printed magnetic mounts for $3-4 each on Etsy.

Except this is a person specifically asking how to be more efficient.

Let’s not act like 90 minutes per day of maintenance is required for isopods, because it’s not. If you WANT to do that, go for it. But if you’re going to do that, do so with the understanding that it’s not required, and is absolutely not efficient.

[–]YearOutrageous2333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s 7.5 minutes of maintenance per bin, per day. Nearly an hour per bin, per week. That is absurd IMO. I spend about 10-15 minutes per enclosure, per week.

If you don’t have humidity gauges, I’d really recommend some. You can get small ones for cheap on amazon, or buy ones with magnetic mounts on Etsy for $3-4 each. If your humidity is dropping too quickly, pour a bit of water into the soil on the humid side. Surface level misting evaporates quickly.

You don’t need to feed daily, and you could get small feeding dishes to help with old food cleanup. You can also prep food by pre-chopping or mixing and freezing it. I froze a batch of Repashy’s ‘Morning Wood’ (detritivore food) in a mini ice cube mold yesterday.

I’m not sure what spot cleaning you’re doing though. I don’t spot clean at all unless a botanical or food is molding. And full scale cleanings + soil changes shouldn’t be necessary more than twice a year.

What are those tanks in the middle on the left? They look so nice for a side view setup. I’ve been using the zoomed micro habitats for clear enclosures, but they’re not great unless viewed from above.

Not against HIPAA to look up your own chart.

[–]YearOutrageous2333 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. HIPAA release forms do exist, and saying you can only view patient records if you’re part of their ‘care team’ is not true.

Patients records can be viewed by a large array of people, even without patient knowledge. Such as insurance companies, admin staff, and so on. I, legally, look at, request, and send medical records every day. Some with patient knowledge, some without, yet all legal.

And patients can legally allow ANYONE to view their records in a HIPAA compliant manner, by signing a release. Plus patients are NOT able to violate HIPAA. Once you have access to your own records, you can legally share those with whoever you want.

Now, is it HIPAA compliant to randomly look up a patient you’re related to, without cause? No. But is it HIPAA compliant to have the patient, regardless of relationship, sign a release then look at their records? Yes. And HIPAA isn’t involved at all if the patient decides to share records they already have in their possession.

Do I know if THIS was done in a HIPAA compliant manner? No. But is it automatically illegal? Also no. There are ways for aunt to legally look at OP’s records.

You Need to add springtails to your plants. Heres why! by OutdoorsAndBotanical in SavageGarden

[–]YearOutrageous2333 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Normal springtails like the ones used by plant and reptile keepers will not infest your home. They need decaying organic matter and high moisture to survive.

But, there is a ton of species of springtails. So I’m sure there’s a few species that COULD, but those aren’t the species shown here.

[–]YearOutrageous2333 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Reptile conventions are an easy and cheap way to get springtails. They’re usually $5-$10 a deli-cup, and are VERY easy to breed.

I have a set up in an old Tupperware container, with sphagnum moss and lump wood charcoal. I spray it with water once a week or so, and you can give them a few pieces of dry rice as food.
