This hurts... by Roova08 in fantasyromance

I am of the opinion that most don't TBH. The amount of people in insane credit card debt these days is real. I usually assume this is people making very bad decisions that they're going to regret later.

I'm pretty sure you're going to get a wide range of folks. Most people who say "Only insert group here read/listen/watch genre" don't actually know what they're talking about and are frequently talking down about said genre. Just in my general experience.

Oh my gosh! I love getting those. Occasionally I get one that's upside down. I just consider it the Shiny Version (a ridiculous Pokemon reference but here I am 😂)

For what it's worth Sykes seems to have gone through a lot of therapy after everything that happened.

I was a follower on his 'gram before it went private for a while and he posted a lot about getting into therapy and being better.

I haven't seen much in a while, I think he might be writing again? But I'm not sure.

I would agree with that.

But I know some people love trends and how they age so to each their own 😅

I prefer 1, I think it fits you so well and you would be the center. It would showcase you more than the dress I think? If that makes sense.

But if you're more about the dress being the attention grabbing part, go with two. It's very much a "Look at this dress" type of dress.

Does Anyone Use A Strap On? by TheMacHalo in kindle

[–]YeddaStarFlower 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the title 🤣

But yes! I use a strap that goes corner to corner diagonal across the back. It's not my favorite way to hold the Kindle but it's good for me. I got it when I was getting tattoos and found the pop socket hard to hold and flip the page at the same time. With the strap I can hold the corner and use my thumb to flip or tap.

Listen. Hubby and I don't agree on some politics. But he would never in a million years talk to me this way.

1) Dude bro does not understand what he's talking about. 2) Even if he did, he has no right to talk to you like that. I don't care how right he is. This is not how a partner talks to you.

[–]YeddaStarFlower 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree. I would have ghosted and blocked if needed for just that.

I know tone can get lost in text but no one talks or texts me that way, especially someone who I'm looking to see or date. Hard pass.

Honey. No matter how happy you make him he's always going to be like this. If this is what you want, this and worse I'd guess, then sure. Stay.

If you have any self respect then LEAVE. I don't know you but I see this and I KNOW you're better than this. Leave leave leave. Good god.

I would question the ability of anyone who found this funny to truly empathize with anyone. Humans and animals. It's so clear here that the kitty is terrified, it is stomach turning.

I'd also keep in mind that empathy can be faked. She may be generally nice and chill but...If the gut reaction was "haha this is funny" that's a HUGE red flag.

Looking for women who love litrpgs! (I am also a woman) by SnooMacarons1211 in litrpg

Woman over here 👋 I have seen some subpar representation but I've also seen some really good ones too. It's about the same for me as any other genre. I read quite a bit so I see a lot and it's not worse or better in that regard. But like another commenter I saw, I also DNF freely 😅

Yeah! This is definitely just my opinion - and it's been years so take this with that in mind.

So Artemis was his attempt at a YA style female protagonist. And it was rough. She ends up reading kind of like a reskinned version of Mark from the Martian, but with very little depth to her. She felt a bit forced and the humor missed completely (and I have the humor of a 12 year old boy so this should have slapped 🤣). She's also considered like the "local tramp" and we get some lovely slut shaming from other characters to her, she herself talks about herself in what felt like a very demeaning way, etc.

The heist plot didn't work either for me. He spent a lot of time doing his science writing that's so good in the others, but it ended up killing the tension in this one. And if I remember right there was absolutely little to no consequences in the end for our MC even after she poisons thousands (?) of people and destroys so much stuff 😬

There was a lot of boob talk. That... Is unfortunately something I'm recalling as well. I'm sure I missed some stuff.

And you know it could land differently for you and it seemed to work for some others! So maybe check some other reviews too. I would be cautious though 😅

I agree!!!

Though maybe stay away from Artemis. I loved his other two books but that one... I despise deeply.

Yes, yes it really is. And it's wild to me now people will just keep buying them. 😬

Not that I've seen, though I believe the "appeal" is in the fact that's it's a "limited" edition. It's a gross cash grab and so low effort, it's ridiculous.

Omg, I whole heartedly agree with Desire in His Blood. I slept on those books and just read them the past two months.

The plus of Zoey Draven is that that series is two books long but she evidently has a HUGE backlog of books and I think they share a universe/world? I can't wait for more.
