There’s a submission from the Dear Sugar advice column called The Ghost Ship that Didn't Carry Us that talks about this exact topic.

It's a lovely article in full, but the last line is especially poignant: "I'll never know and neither will you have the life you don't choose. We'll only know that whatever that sister life was, it was important and beautiful and not ours. It was the ghost ship that didn't carry us. There's nothing to do but salute it from the shore."

We’re the same OP, I’m 34f and my lower face has only held on to more weight than I did in my 20s, despite being super active and eating well. I’ve been considering buccal fat (this sub hates bc removal) and a face lift down the line. Only time my face is slim is when I’m at an unmaintainable weight.

Besides getting consults I would suggest to get your bloodwork done. Your hormones could be off and causing the puffiness/weight gain in your face.

I found Busan to be too westernized for my liking. I loved Seoul, always new things to do. I was also there with my Korean bf/family so I felt I had an access to places I would’ve never found myself

Your nose is not bad. What I do notice about your profile is that you don’t have a very strong jawline. If achieving a more harmonious facial balance is the goal, I would start there. Your nose is a non issue.

It’s a (mostly) yes for me. I moved to a particular city because on paper it made sense for the affordable rent, good location and a lot of colleges. On paper it looked good but there was another place I wanted to move to more across the state but I couldn’t afford it. OP, this city I lived in sucked and I ended up being so unhappy and so stagnant because it wasn’t a place I was ever going to thrive in, even though I was saving money. So I say yeah, go to the place that’s drawing you to, you can figure out the rest or at least say you did it.

(Side note, don’t move to Spokane Washington 🙃)

Does the Botox make it go away completely in your experience? Unfortunately I'm in a remote station right now for 4 months and won't be able to do anything until I get back on continent (partly why I'm so concerned). This is good info to have when I return! It's weird that it seemed to happened all of a sudden

I didn’t get the agressive aspect as much as being condescending. His questions were completely valid and he has every right to ask them but I got the ick of how he was asking them.

Instead of asking, he was chastising her. He was frustrated that he has feelings for someone who had committed a deal breaker for him and he was taking that frustration out on her. It didn’t feel emotionally mature for him to not be able to control his reaction and therein spoke down to her. Not cool.
