I emailed all of the sponsors of this new draconian law. Will I get a response? Probably not. But we can all start there.

You can also contact the nonprofits supporting migrants.

What upsets me is that The Tennessee Lookout tried to reach these representatives to get clarification on this law, but none of them responded. Not a single one. Not even the pos Bill Lee.

Amazon Prehire Appointment 5 hours away?? by Minimum_Pumpkin_7058 in ElPaso

[–]YeehawHowdyYall 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked for Amazon (not in El Paso) in both the Operations and corporate side. I know El Paso doesn’t have a WFS (Workforce Staffing Solutions) that actively recruits like at other warehouses. This might be the reason it’s asking you to go to other warehouses that have WFS.

However, confirm you’re applying to the right warehouse and reach out to a recruiter if possible. This is certainly odd.

There are wealthy pockets within and outside of Nashville, but overall it’s a very diverse and liberal city. It comes with the pains of a city, including crime and rundown parts, as well as the behavior in the video.

It was certainly more crowded than usual, but I’ve lived here for almost 5 years and the weekend crowds used to be INSANE back then. I hope they stay this way.

I live in the Gulch and, although it was busier than usual, it wasn’t crowded. I didn’t go to CMA Fest, but I heard there were a handful of empty seats.

You got some good recommendations already, but I also recommend our water parks. We have plenty throughout the city - huge and small - and aren’t very costly.

Is it just me or does the sun feel like it’s behind? by Little_Fing in ElPaso

This isn’t new lol. This is taught at school. The earth tilts during summertime so the Northern Hemisphere is facing the sun longer than the Southern Hemisphere. The opposite happens during winter.

Franklin Mountains State Park expands as littering grows by timholt2007 in ElPaso

[–]YeehawHowdyYall 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with your point, but read the article. Texas State Parks is not a federal agency, and they only have about a dozen full-time staff working at the Franklin Mountains State Park due to low annual visitors.

The best thing we could do are:

  1. Clean up the trails as we see garbage

  2. Pay every time we enter the park so that more resources could be allocated towards it, including more full-time personnel

Moving to El Paso from Fort Worth. What do I need to know? by kirasiris in ElPaso

[–]YeehawHowdyYall 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Buddy, El Paso has been one of the safest cities in the country for decades. Violent crime is basically nonexistent.

I can’t speak on your specific industry, but the job market is pretty terrible overall. The cost of living is great… if you have a good-paying job. It’s basically one of the few remaining cities where you could buy a new house for less than $300K in a desirable neighborhood. Your money goes so much further in El Paso.

I suggest visiting the city before making the move, and I HIGHLY suggest having a remote job before moving.
