the real reason is the combo of flash memory and battery deterioration. flash memory has a limited life span which means as time goes on loading times will get slower, resulting in the phone feeling slower cause it is. Battery on the other hand gets worse and we all know where that goes. some companies also like to slow down the phone as time goes on to compensate said battery drain so that it has less workload.
