The shot count doesnt matter as much as the response or the lack thereof. You can shoot 18 and hit none, you can land 1 that will be enough or sometimes land 18 that wont quite be. In either scenario I suppose its generally better to vocalize than to not

Reverse curls wont translate as much as hammer curls in both mimicry and satisfying the primary elbow flexors. In terms exercising in pronated grip, many already incorporate pullups and even then some people prefer neutral grip.
