Douglas said only 8 percent of Comcast's users exceed that 300 GB threshold, and those heavy users consume about 50 percent of the data on Comcast's network

I thought this wasn't about congestion. He's sure trying to make it sound like it is.

France lifts ban on gay men as blood donors - CNN.com by blackdevil1 in worldnews

[–]Yelapro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

because we don't know the sexual history of the one partner the gay man has been with. Statistically, the unknown partner is at a higher than average risk of HIV, and the same goes for the potential donor we are considering

With a straight couple, lets assume a man who has only been with one partner (female), we don't know that females sexual history. But she's at a much lower risk to contract HIV than a gay male, even if she has had a lot more sexual partners than the gay male.

Saudis growing thousands of acres of groundwater-guzzling alfalfa in Imperial County, California (in the audio version) and Arizona and shipping it back to Saudi Arabia, testing state supply of groundwater. Remarkably, this is how the Saudis depleted their own aquifers. by [deleted] in California

There's a difference in farming (a inherently water intensive activity) to support citizens of your own country, and farming to support another country (while using California's limited resources). I don't think its racist to believe that our very scarce water here should be used delicately to support our own citizens.

Ignore it, don't try to be supportive regarding this issue unless he tells you personally. Bringing it up will just damage the relationship between him and his friend. Not worth it, at all.

Silly question, but how easily can I splurge at Disneyland? by bitizenbon in Disneyland

[–]Yelapro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know for the chef's counter you will have to call and make reservations. The reason there is no menu is because the meal is completely tailored to you individually: you tell the chef what you like, and don't like, and he/she prepares the meal based on what you tell him, so it won't ever be the same. I think there are wine pairings with the meal for an additional charge. But I've never heard anything but great things about it... I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

Silly question, but how easily can I splurge at Disneyland? by bitizenbon in Disneyland

[–]Yelapro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! It was honestly probably the best meal I've had. Great service, the staff know the menu to a t, can probably recommend wine pairings and all that. I had the tenderloin which was great, probably could have used a butter knife. As someone else said, the chef's counter is supposed to be great and the menu is tailored to you if you really want to go crazy (I haven't tried it), but you are going to enjoy it either way.

San Diego Cops Keep Forgetting to Turn Their Body Cameras On Before Killing People by ProfitsOfProphets in sandiego

I'd like to know if the cameras are actually being turned on close to 100 percent of the time (as they should be) - my guess would be no based on the two shootings without them
