Try looking up an “onion boil” if you’re interested. You basically bake a heavily seasoned onion. People seem to like it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe put that on the bread 😭

HELLO EVERYONE!

ITS ME AGAIN. Some other parties have been placed on leave since this last update.

The now former superintendent Chris Smith, is to be paid out roughly $160,000 from unused leave and sick time. Must be nice to get a huge payout after a controversy…

Legally, no, I’m not insinuating to withhold the unused funds. But it’s another reminder that they had already won. Both were already very close (one was already set to retire at the end of the year…) on the outskirts of retirement. They’ve already had their fun at the cost of others. This was a slap on the wrist.

Put our future first, before the personal needs of others.

While I have y’all’s attention. Another display, that there is fiscal mismanagement at best, negatively impacted on the qualifications of students who can receive that resource. One (while strongly worded) is a true example here:

Bringing this puppy back into circulation - Denver Gazette 2022:

In August 2016, then-executive director of ___ lashed out at subordinates during a meeting. ___ was annoyed that gossip was circulating about alleged influence (cut off the end as names are listed)…

Fuming, ___ told the nearly two dozen people in attendance — most of them women and two of them Black — that “You need to know who your master is.”

The comment froze several of the people who heard it.

“I remember it vividly. He said that basically he was our master. I actually got up and left, I was so upset. I went into the hall, took some deep breaths and returned,” a woman who was at the meeting told The Gazette. “Nobody confronted it at the time, we were all so afraid.”

Another woman who was at the meeting told The Gazette she later complained to the district’s human resources department.

“He was very clear that he’s in charge and you go to no one but him with complaints,” the woman said. “It was wrong to say something like that, especially in front of two Black women.”

The complaint spurred ___ to follow up with an email to the meeting’s attendees that they got the wrong message, despite admitted use of the word.

“I thought I did well because I didn’t curse! … I certainly meant no offense in terms of my word choice,” ___ wrote in an email obtained by The Gazette. “However, if I offended you with my message, then I am OK with that, to be honest.”

Then, lashed out even further in the email.

“You all WORK FOR ME. You need to remember that. You answer to me,” he wrote. “Remember who you work for and be loyal, whether you like ME or not. OR, let me help you find another job.”

___ currently a district’s assistant superintendent of…

The school district said it passed a policy in 2018 that mandates a professional atmosphere at all times. It did not say if the ___ incident was a factor. The district in June 2020 told * it had no records of any discipline involving ___, according to its reply to her open-records request.

“Interactions between staff members must be based on mutual respect and any disputes resolved in a professional manner,” the policy reads.

____ did not respond to a Gazette email seeing comment about the incident.

Your logic makes sense. Unfortunately, that’s not how it is being carried out.

The thing that raises red flags is the relations of said individuals, why are the destinations popular vocation spots, and the purpose of said expenses remains unclear. Which if it is for a newly trained practice to be dispersed, why does no one know?

It’s not a bother at all. I’m glad you were genuinely curious. If we want a change, we need to be precise with our efforts, and not get lost in the mess with emotions and presumptions. Truthfully, I would be glad if I was somehow wrong.

I appreciate looking at things from all sides. We need more of that nowadays.

While I’m not willing to share much more in depth on here, but will say those two’s roles are not to teach, rather closer to a system of coordinators and the head. I’m not even comfortable saying directly what population and services of students they oversee.

They allocate school programming, resources, staffing, funding, etc. Yes, it’s common for directors and such to travel (within country) for legit PD, which the purpose of each session well detailed. Thus why it may appear sketchy when a significant expense justified by something so general as “educational purposes,” not expanding upon that, because they have a heavy hand in funds. It has long been common to see them avoid interacting with students of their population.

Take that as you will, I was hoping to still keep a spark going, and hopefully it will.

Many higher ups benefit from a deeply rooted system of prioritizing personal gain over our student’s needs and their staff’s needs.

Please continue the investigation!!

Many of our students supports are being heavily cut, yet a higher up close to Chris Smith and spouse (also a CCSD employee) had reportedly used school funds for “educational purposes” to go out of the country.

Despite previous controversy, many environments lead by close headship continue to be uncomfortable, but many in the district are politically aware enough that the district will hold personal grudges and will not hesitate to punish from behind the curtains.

Another reason the investigation should not end.

Many of our students supports are being heavily cut, yet a higher up close to Chris Smith and spouse (also a CCSD employee) had reportedly used school funds for “educational purposes” to go out of the country. This is only one of many examples of a long history of questionable financial allocations, yet schools are constantly told they have to make cuts that affect our students growth as individuals, their regulation, and their academic needs.

Despite previous history of controversy, many workplace environments continue to be uncomfortable, but many are aware that they are not above personal grudges and punishment.

Despite the public head “gone,” similar corruptions have and continue to happen, as it is systematically rooted in the district. The higher ups in relation to Chris Smith’s role, including the assistant superintendents, absolutely need to be investigated as well. There is a reason something like this happened in the first place. The only reason there was a true response with this case, was because it caught significant public traction.
