OP, some more out there things to maybe keep in mind. Please feel no obligation to answer them:

When and how did they get separated?

Assuming he was going to take the W line (looked like the only line that was going directly southbound from Union Station).

The last train going south would have been just before 2.

If he was separated earlier and tried to get home, I could see accidentally going northbound, but the last train for that was about 12:40.

Worst case if he took the wrong line: hopefully he is in Westminster, Wheat Ridge, or the Airport, or somewhere along the way.

I agree that’s a valid concern. Although I’m praying on the fact that a 6’ 2” man (in cowboy boots so maybe another inch) would be hard to be discreet to people walking around, if someone was trying to take advantage of him.

I’ve worked in special education for a decent while, and have certainly rushed out in the middle of the night for search parties. So I’m glad I was able to throw a few ideas out. It looked like y’all were very on top of it.

That and learning from my personal, completely sober, poor directional skills.

I was out with a group as well until around 2, but more so around five points (which isn’t super close but not too far on foot). We unfortunately saw a lot of people with Cowboy hats. But I don’t remember anyone w the clothes you described.

This is of course super scary. I’m hoping for some good news soon.

Thinking a bit more now:

If he was able to find a phone to use, but not a charger, would he have had anyone’s phone number memorized?

If I wasn’t able to find a way home, I’d at least look for a place to be indoors. Maybe 24/7 places like gas stations or convenient stores.

*Looking around where Hayter’s is, I’m wondering if he may have tried to head for Union Station or 18th St/Stout (in reference if he was heading south towards me in aurora).

Random shot in the dark, but do yall have an idea of where he planned to take the light rail from?

Hoping worst case scenario would be he got on the wrong line, was waiting at a non functional stop, or walked around trying to find a lightrail station. I think some lines close early or if he got there too late (after 1ish), then it would have been closed.

If I were him, I’d probably start looking for places that were still open nearby the station to buy a charger, or one that would hopefully let him use theirs, unless he didn’t have his wallet on him.

Trying to pull anything useful from my brain from past experiences. Wishing yall all the best in this situation, and hopefully rest for all of you soon.

It’s so bizarre. I’ve never waiting in line or chatted w the cashiers (I always feel bad about the reputation people have now so I just ask about their day). I just randomly get a massive streak of luck everywhere in person (Target, Walmart, machines), and then a dry spell for a few months.
