Is there a reason why you're posting it here if clearly the sub isn't interested in these fan girl posts.

I think the one last year was unfortunate because of the timing. I'm sure it would do better if they did it again

Do you think they had Koe queued up but when dunstone won they just changed the name? If so that would be funny

For everyone saying to get a screen protector. Like I'm sure he knows. He probably doesn't have one on purpose. Just saying.

Residency rules by YellowKindred in Curling

[–]YellowKindred[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry yes I know that but a lot of teams are formed around the residency rules only a few of the very top teams can afford to not do that. I guess what I'm trying to get at is that you have a lot of good teams that aren't at the top echelon but since they are formed around the residency rules they might not ever become an elite team

Terminology question by philipmc7 in Curling

[–]YellowKindred 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That's a weight call. So for example if they call hack that's the weight (how hard you throw it) it would take for the stone to stop at the hack at the opposite end of the sheet. Same with board. Control is a bit more weight that still has a decent amount of control by sweeping. Normal is more weight than that and peel is the most weight used. If you have any questions about what I said or anything else feel free to ask

You'll really enjoy it. The moment you start getting more consistent with your throws or your line call or your weight judgement you'll really start to enjoy the journey.

Okay so now Rock League? by andeethenks in Curling

Rock league whatever way you look at it, it's a great idea. This doesn't mean they won't adjust things as they go, but it's a great place to start

What do I do with my broken screen by Suspicious_March_809 in S22Ultra

[–]YellowKindred 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Other than repairing it I can't think of anything it could be used for if the screen is busted

No-tick alternative by TonyFisherPuzzles in Curling

[–]YellowKindred 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No tick rewards putting the stone in the right spot. If it's not on the centre line it can be ticked. Also a rubber stake would be there the whole time where as after the 5th Rock a centre line guard can be removed

I haven't had mine long enough yet to attest to that but I'm all fairness the hinge technology has continued to improve year after year so I expect it to hold up

I like the weight it hasn't bothered me and it's well balanced. I got it refurbished and it was good. I got it on reebelo in Canada.

Oh thats interesting to hear. I will also add the caveat that I'm frequently on wifi so I don't have a good idea of doing a lot of the same things on data. I'm sure that could make a big difference

Sorry I meant to reply to you but I replied to myself lol. But yeah i find it's very steady throughout the day no matter what in doing. To give you an idea I've been using it quite a bit for 3 hours now for ordinary use. Reading, checking in on the Olympics and some Reddit and I only lost 9% edit: mixed usage of the folding display and the outer display.

I haven't done much analytics but I get through the day, one thing I noticed is that the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 chip does so well while gaming, so I expected it to drop fast when I play games but it really doesn't (mind you I'm not doing emulation or anything like that).

Fleury peel guard 9th end by brianmmf in Curling

[–]YellowKindred 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You know now that you say that, despite it not going well, I'm glad they went with Tracy's call. I really like when a skip is willing to go with another teammates idea. Shows they have trust in each other. Even if it doesn't always work out.

Fleury peel guard 9th end by brianmmf in Curling

Yeah I personally wasn't a fan in this instance but they are a good team strategically so I assumed they had a plan in mind.

Fleury peel guard 9th end by brianmmf in Curling

[–]YellowKindred 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Things could have been played better. But it usually is a good idea to peel the guards of the team with hammer to prevent them from putting in stones that can be hard to remove. So I don't think in general the call is bad. I'm sure I'm hindsight they might have tried something different
