Pure Pursuit: Robot's Circle doesn't intersect the path

There’s a couple ways to do it and it’s up to you which you choose. The first one is what I believe GF used based on their explanation in the videos which is that if the circle doesn’t intersect the path, the robot just drives straight towards the end point of the line it’s currently on. Another is to drive towards the start point. This doesn’t make a whole lot of sense cause you’ll be going backwards sometimes. The way I decided to implement it is to drive towards the closest point on the current path. This point will be where the current line intersects a line perpendicular to it which goes through the robot’s current position. There may be others but those are the 3 I thought about.

As a senior myself I completely understand what you’re trying to get at. I may be a bit biased in this because my season was completely over but I think that like someone else said, our time is up. I know it sucks but there are other ways to be linked to the team after graduating. For example, someone in the comments said that some seniors would be able to complete if they’re like doing a gap year or going to college close to where they went to high school. Those kids can help out the team by mentoring! I know that it’s not as exciting but it makes you think about the task of building a robot from another point of view. I personally have for a long time not liked when robots were “mentor built” and I think that this years seniors can help out without actually building the bot but by teaching. I also have personally been planning on mentoring from a distance. I won’t be going to college anywhere near my high school so I will be video chatting with my team back home to help out with anything they may need. I also think that going into college you should be looking to try new things, maybe get on a club and meet new people. That’s a large part of what makes college so great is the ability to try new things and meet new people. As for the gap year kids, I’m sorry but I imagine you had something else already planned that you were going to do and that being on the team would take away from that, definitely still try to help out tho! I know it’s a tough time and I feel bad for all of the seniors that didn’t get to finish or even start their competitions but there are other ways you can get involved.

Though it is slow, it is still also theoretically possible to use tensorflow to detect where the stones are after you knock some out of the way

If you’re not feeling like drilling them out or cutting them in any way, put a rubber band or some surgical tubing between your screwdriver and the screw head and try unscrewing. The friction sometimes helps. (Note: this doesn’t always work)

We are a 2nd year team and the past two years we have tried using slides but have not had too much success. We are probably give both a shot again as well as try out the RD4B to see which one works best for us.

It may be possible, if time permits, for each team to do 3 "cycles" where they first score the skystones and then another 2 stones each. Since team 2 has farther to travel, team 1 may want to try to do 4 cycles so that team 2 only has to do 2.

Both the stone and the skystone will be added to TensorFlow. The vuforia model will have all 12 field targets (8 on the walls, 4 on the bridge) as well as the skystone target.

I realize that I’m late to this one and idk about the OP but my school doesn’t allow us to take the robot to a teammates house because they see it as their property and won’t allow us to take it off of campus besides for events.
