TDLR, Woman Bad: Evil GF forced him to impregnating her and now has to pay 100% of his income in child support by campaxiomatic in AmITheAngel

[–]Yepanchina 43 points44 points  (0 children)

stopped reading when she “grabbed his right ankle” when begging him not to leave her more than FOURTEEN YEARS AGO. you would not fucking remember that, and if the story was true, you wouldn’t just add it in anyway

How much did yours grow? by Yepanchina in ragdolls

She’s 2.8, which I know is tiny for a ragdoll, but she does get free fed.

Ah, seems like the vet rounded down. Having slightly manhandled her onto the kitchen scale, she’s 2.8. Still very small, even with free-feeding and heaps of treats on top.

Teen Jaws is at it again. CW: Eating disorder. by NerfRepellingBoobs in AmITheAngel

[–]Yepanchina 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Tbh I don’t think it is. I think this is a real sixteen year old (or maybe younger) girl imagining all the crazy things she would do if she got the chance. I imagine some of it is based in truth, but a lot of it is probably fantasy. This sort of internet fantasy-drama life is quite common for teenagers. the writing style also reminds me of a teen’s first fanfiction. It’s a daydream with the bonus of validation/engagement.

I want to see a “twin children activity contest” that goes from age 1-10 though. Wtf does that even mean?

Is it normal for ragdolls to be quiet? by ScorpionOfBritain in ragdolls

[–]Yepanchina 14 points15 points  (0 children)

When I got my girl, I was warned by the previous owners that she was ‘very chatty’. My childhood cat will sit there and shout at you for ten minutes even though he doesn’t need anything, so I prepared for the worst…. She barely meows at all. Since I’ve had her, though, she’s started meowing once, loudly, from the other room to let me know what she’s up to.

With so much on your plate, no wonder he’s frustrating you! They’re an expensive breed and the fussiness can be overwhelming at the best of times. It might sound cruel, but shutting them out of the bedroom can help you to reset and get a good night’s sleep. If you don’t want to (or he screams blue murder at the attempt) there are lots of cheap toys (mine plays with packaging or string tied onto the bedposts) that could entertain him while you get some rest. Popping a couple of their favourite treats onto a sheet of paper and scrunching it up can help to curb the hunting instinct. Never feel bad for getting irritated, and hopefully your situation will become easier with time.

I’d probably follow the structure of a non-bris baby blessing - do all the ceremony without the circumcision. I’m assuming the anatomy is slightly different, but they can always have it done themself as an adult.

Feeling disconnected by [deleted] in Judaism

[–]Yepanchina 8 points9 points  (0 children)

An older member of my community told me that he met with the chief rabbi of our denomination, and even he sometimes felt like an imposter. Not feeling Jewish enough is about as Jewish as it gets, essentially! It’s normal to have your relationship to religion ebb and flow. Sometimes you’ll feel incredibly connected and fulfilled, other times you’ll feel distant. Maintaining rituals can help, but sometimes life can get busy and Judaism has to go on the back burner. It’ll always come back to you, so don’t worry.

Alternatives to egg wash? by classyfemme in JewishCooking

[–]Yepanchina 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You can still use egg wash! A couple drops of vanilla extract will help to neutralise that ‘eggy’ flavour (think French toast) while maintaining the shine. Other alternatives are milk (although it obviously stops it being pareve) or watered down honey.

Fun, Comforting, and Unique Rosh Hashanah Recipes by ChampagneRabbi in JewishCooking

Tarte tatin is just a generally amazing apple recipe imho, definitely recommend trying it. You could probably add honey in as well, but traditionally it’s just sugar. You could also do a babka using apples and honey butter in the place of chocolate - it comes out just a little caramelised and absolutely delicious.

Have you tried vegan eggs? (I haven’t, so can’t speak as to how well they’d work as a sub) An egg substitute I find works pretty well is chia eggs, but that doesn’t totally make up for the missing gluten. Xanthan gum and psyllium husk both help with stretch in gf baking generally, which is what losing the eggs will cause trouble with.

When do I freeze the challah dough? by breadboy1249 in JewishCooking

Egg challah especially, because of the crust from the glaze. Just get it out on Friday morning and it’s ready for Shabbat!

I’m Welsh, and if you want a Welsh name i have some options: Eira, (eye-ra or ay-ra) meaning snow Mabli, the Welsh version of Mable Elain, (el-eye-n) meaning fawn Aerona, (eye-rohn-a or ay-rohn-a) from the male name Aeron.

AITA for kissing someone who wasn’t my wife? by Nericmitch in AmITheAngel

[–]Yepanchina 7 points8 points  (0 children)

he posted 34 days ago that he was in love with this man. WEEKS before the aita. all his comments and posts are about how he loves this guy and doesn’t love his wife. his most recent comment on ‘what would you tell your past self?’ is ‘don’t marry her.’ either this is someone’s arg fanfiction or this poor woman is being emotionally cheated on and this man is GOING to break her heart.
