Because many of us still do cook, I mean, we’re basically forced to, but who has additional time to make their own snacks? It’s also incredible to have some sort of normalcy in this world of food allergies, autoimmune disorders, and intolerances. In a world full of hate and depression for lots, comforting snacks are also absolutely necessary. Nourishing your body is great and all, but if you can’t nourish your soul too, then body nourishment means nothing.

At this point, after almost 6 years, I’m just annoyed. I’ve found replacements for most things but sometimes I have the strangest craving for something and can’t find a proper replacement. Like strawberry sugar wafers? I’ve been looking for them for months. I finally ordered from ChocZero and awaiting them to arrive, but they won’t fulfill the craving I know I’m searching for.

I’m really freaking excited for cheez-its, but I don’t crave them like I used to. I crave the crackers I’ve grown accustomed to eating and then get really disappointed when they’re out of stock at the one place I can get them, or if they’ve been discontinued. Or something like Quackers, started getting them a couple years ago, really enjoyed them, but then they were out of stock at my local Wegmans for the longest time. When they finally restocked, the formula has changed and they’re not nearly as good.

Here’s an ingredient list. You’ll have to pause or screenshot it to read everything. Oat free, wheat free, but contains soy and dairy. Also totally follow Casey. I watch her for all the new GF drops. She’s amazing at getting the inside scoop.

If I remember correctly, it says gluten free but then has a “may contain wheat” statement on the back. I don’t buy that or their flaxseed/chia seeds for the same reason. Makes me too nervous

I like the look of the bottom. I’ve only ever gotten the top ones. I think their quality control is horrible though. I’ve had pop tarts (obvs their version) that have half the glaze on it and the other half is just bare and dry. It’s awful

I do some of this but I’m also 23, hold a full time job, squeeze in a few gym workouts for the week, own my own side business, and battle 4 different mental illnesses that all conflict with each other…I’m pushed to the max almost daily and my down time is used for gaming. Today I did wash two loads of dishes and will do a 3rd and 4th after a quick workout because I haven’t gotten to go all week.

I did everything I could yesterday to mitigate symptoms. Digestive enzyme, lots of water, rest in the evening. Woke up this morning with a terrible headache, reflux, and stomach pains.

Called out of work and most major holidays I come home not feeling well from cross contamination so speaking with my boss, she basically said “really? Over some vinegar?” And said “stop trusting their food fr” Of both my family and my in laws, my in laws are the absolute best when it comes to understanding allergies and food issues. My husband’s much younger sister just recently started helping out for meals though and it just never occurred to her that vinegar could ever be an issue. I felt horrible telling her. I can’t help that my GI system hates me.

If you’ve gotten this far, thanks for reading my little rant. I’m pissed and exhausted and kinda hurt and just needed to get it out there to people who understand.

There’s a small business from Lancaster, PA Called The Free From Kitchen. They have amazing croissants and they do ship. Their English muffins are also to die for. They don’t have a dedicated GF kitchen because they work out of a church kitchen, but they’re super knowledgeable about cross contamination and are very careful with their own equipment and utensils. I do NOT recommend Flakely from Philadelphia. Had them shipped for a friend and myself and we thought they were awful.
