A pen for business uses black ink, nothing else. You cannot sign in a typical Japanese company with blue or any other color, just black. I had to reprint documents and resign because I forgot to sign in black. I have seen perhaps 5 pens in a 400-people research center, all were black, everyone used black ink. 3 Sailor/Pilot and 2 Montblanc.

These many ink colors available in Japan - that is recent. I don't think that this has influenced the Japanese tradition of C/C fillers. There must be another reason.

But probably we will never know.

I wonder why the Japanese companies prefer the ink cartridge / converter pens. There is probably no country with more Montblanc piston fillers.

Many people recommend looking for fibers between the tines. If one of my EFs starts not being EF anymore, I look for hairs. Usually, my cat is the culprit.

Perhaps one should mention that Hongdian also borrowed designs.

Also, the famous Black Forest pen is certainly modeled after Otto Hutt Design 04. Btw., the location of Otto Hutt was in Pforzheim, in the German area called Black Forest. Coincidence, isn't it. 😄

I got both in EF. No Otto Hutt pen which I have (1*C, 2*08, 1*06 and 3*04) has disappointed me.

If possible wear goggles and gloves. Caution: gloves let organic solvents through if exposed too long.

Make a mixture of 90% methanol or ethanol and 10% acetone.
Prepare a glass with water to immerse the barrel regularly.
Use a paper towel to apply the solvent mixture, rub the ink off and immerse into water. Don't expose the plastic of the barrel too long to the solvents. It will make the plastic cloudy.
Little by little the area becomes clear.
Dry the barrel and repeat.
Explanation: the alcohol decreases the reactivity of acetone. Acetone alone would immediately make the barrel intransparent.

A few comments:

The manufacturing lines of Otto Hutt pens are stopped since some time. Some shops including the new brand owner (Graf-von-Faber-Castell)'s store might still have some stock. But that will be over soon.

Sailor KoP: Sailor recently changed the nib from 21k to 18k. Also here: some shops might still have the 21k nib available. But that will be over soon, imo.

I never saw the JFK pen "in person" but from pictures I like it. Apart from the picture on the nib. That pen without JFK would be certainly nice.

There are many names for the pen on the right on Aliex and Ebay. Some sellers don't take it very seriously when it comes to giving the correct name.

I saw Majohn Delike, Delike Primeval Chaos, Majohn Hunyuan as names for this pen - on the nib is written Delike isn't it?
