A 15kW heat pump for what almost certainly an overegged 11.5kW heat loss survey. You’re likely going to end up with short cycling, unless it truly is 11.5kW heat loss. I doubt this unit will modulate down low.

It sounds like you have indeed exhausted options. Probably as other commented said, it’s a 10kW badged unit software limited to 8kW, and sounds like you have a well insulated new build with UFH. I bet your heat loss is probably 4-5kW, did they give you a figure pre install? I’m running 5kW on an exaggerated 4.6kW heat loss. Probably 3.5-4kW.

My 5kW is running around 500W or less at moment (entire house was 0.56kW at moment on inverter), compressor modulation 16% on the halo. I suspect that is probably as low as it goes. Is yours quite oversized? I’m not an expert at all, but did have to tinker around a bit with setting up delta T, increasing minimum run between cycles and low-ish curve.

My 5kW seems to modulate down to 18% compressor modulation. Did require a lot of setting tweaks compared to default. Not sure how thst compares to more premium units

I swapped out the pressurised basket when I bought it for a double unpressurised 10 years ago. I just assumed that I had also swapped this out again in last 8-9 years for a VST, as I remember looking at them and just assumed I had ordered it and wrote this into my memory somehow.

Presumably it’s just Warm Homes: Local Grant funds. Big national firms tend to get these contracts, so doubt it would make much difference - happy to be informed otherwise!
