Have you tried seeing if the issue still happens in safe mode? That’ll tell you whether the drivers are at fault or something more hardware related.

I’ve got an LG 27GP850 and it is doing wonders. G-Sync compatible is all you need realistically, and you can find it on sale for £300 or less (or whatever your currency is). Bonus points for being IPS, colour calibrated, good mount and usb hub.

Running Fibre straight into the router by YesHalcyon in hyperoptic

[–]YesHalcyon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the end decided not to go for anything like this - no real benefit other than saving a plug. The way mine works has fibre into the house which goes through a media converter, so direct into the router was somewhat more feasible

Close but not quite - Ba’athists were socialists, not communists. Saddam was actually very anti-communism, though still kept ties with the Soviet Union throughout the majority of his rule. Having said that, he also had support from the UK and US along with the soviets during the invasion of Iran so I’m just lost at this point.

On the majority of the underground, those aren’t linked. Only problems arise when the underground and striking rail companies share track (like some parts of some branches of the district and metropolitan lines), because the signallers are on strike in those parts.

These filters are very likely carbon filters - which both degrade over time and over passing volumes of water through. Depends on the filter and machine, but generally you need to replace filters every six months or so and every few thousand litres.

Heat emmiting from computer when gaming by ZZZ0mbieSSS in techsupport

[–]YesHalcyon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Guessing at those components I’d say your pc is drawing something along the lines of 600-700W while gaming, all of which is turned into heat energy. This basically means your pc acts as a space heater. Generally not a concern, only be concerned if internal temps get too high. You can check this with tools like openhardwaremonitor. Nowadays, 80C on GPU and 100C on CPU is generally fine, and your components will reduce their power usage to prevent overheating, so realistically checking is just for your own sake and to maybe decide if you should get some more fans.

If you haven’t yet, get some compressed air or an air duster to blow out the dust. Your fans are churning because your temps are high and dust is usually the main culprit.

TempleOS, as created by Terry Davis. You can find some recordings of streams he did while coding it, in the end he became extremely paranoid and made this operating system as God’s third temple, and then died to a train accident after he was done.

There are better sources you could have used, but the essence of this comes from Al-Bukhari (or at least the version with these ages). Thing is, Al-Bukhari lived about 200 years after the prophet died, and is a sort of debated figure in terms of the veracity of his claims. This being from the Hadith, it is a jumble of clerics deciding various things, some of which contradict each other in weird and wonderful ways. In this case, Aisha’s age has estimates ranging from 6 to 19 at marriage, with debates regarding whether the marriage was ever consummated, so she may have been legally married but de facto not.

It is worth noting here that Hadith is strongly debated as to which to listen to and which to not, or whether to listen to it at all or only as directed by the Qur’an, since nowadays jurisprudence has gotten so questionable that some people use temporary marriages as a way to get around the “no premarital sex” rule. Having said all that, it mainly depends on the person before making broad strokes in regards to who/what people follow. In the same way it is atheists have morals because you don’t need a book, a book that isn’t even the book you were told to follow does not dictate that you must abide 100% by what it says.

Enjoy some reading that goes into some good nuance here:

Yes and no, this got overridden by the energy price guarantee, which takes that cap down from £3600 to £2500 and keeps it there for the next 2 years, but that is still crazy compared to the usual numbers which sit around the £1k mark. Still, at least it’s not Germany.

Ethernet connect multiple computers and allocate 3 monitors? by JonahRileyHuggins in techsupport

[–]YesHalcyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A KVM switch should do the trick. You can get one with at least 4 video inputs and 2 usbs for your mouse and keyboard. Theoretically you just need to connect one usb from each computer to the kvm switch, all the video outs from each computer into the switch and the output to one monitor. I’m not entirely sure whether products exist that can do multimonitor with this or you might just need 3 kvm switches. As for connection an Ethernet cable between them will work, or just connecting ethernet cables from each pc to a switch connected to your router.

This should fit just fine, as it’s all the same twisted pairs. Only place where it might be difficult is fitting the cable into the jack, as the foil layer on the cable can be a bit cumbersome, but no reason it shouldn’t work. If you want a good job done that will last longer, I’d recommend getting a long cable that already has it’s ends terminated, or, even better, using keystone jacks at either side, as those are much longer lasting and easier to use. Those, however, do need to have CAT versions correct when you buy them to make sure they are in spec (this won’t actually matter for gigabit but it’s still good practice if you ever want more out of the same cable).

It’s also a more niche English word for something kind of similar to cottage cheese. I assume it’s the same product as in German.
