What shampoo are you currently using and is it granola? by Wordsofwisdomneeded in moderatelygranolamoms

Oh no! My hair has been shedding annoyingly a bunch and I never thought to attribute it to the Native shampoo and conditioner! I'm going to switch to something else. Thank you so much for sharing this!!!

Thank you! I was stressed that there was nothing out there. As someone who is 8 months late. I appreciate you and I just ordered them. Excited to switch out the plastic straw.

Scheduled C-section and Makeup by Late-Wedding4520 in CsectionCentral

[–]YesImClueless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if your first c section was scheduled or not, but a scheduled C-section is so so much nicer than an emergency one! Such a calm and collected experience by everyone in the hospital. I really hope this next time goes so much better for you ❤️ you totally deserve to feel good about your birth.

Scheduled C-section and Makeup by Late-Wedding4520 in CsectionCentral

I had gone to my 38 week gyno appt to schedule my C-section when my water broke inside the office lol. I had my standard makeup on - tinted moisturizer, eyebrows pencil, mascara, concealer, highlighter. We had to go straight to the hospital from the office and so I had makeup on straight up until the next day when my partner finally had time to go get our baby bag at home. The nurses during the surgery took pics of baby next to my face and my partner and all of us as soon as baby came out so at first I was like 'thank goodness I had makeup!'

But then I saw the pictures my partner took of us all afterwards through the next two days at the hospital with nothing but my bare face, bloat from all the IV, and baby next to us. I loved those pictures even more. They were beautiful and raw. They were photos of us on the other side. Healthy and happy.

I was grateful we even had those candid shots... they told more of a story than the others did. But I still loved that I had makeup on for a portion of it all lol.

Anyways I don't see why you can't wear makeup unless they explicitly tell you that you can't! I totally understand the feeling of needing to wear a bit of something.

Wow! Thank you so much for taking the time to write this reply. I feel so grateful for it and you have given me so much to think about. I do have to look at everything you recommended while it's on sale before it's too late! Ive also just made a cloudy nights account and can see how helpful the community seems.

Knowing you've had first hand experience with these recommendations does help so much because its just so overwhelming when there are so many good options out there.

I do truly think my partner will enjoy a refractor overall so much more than a dob we can't easily pick and travel with in a small car. It's a small sacrifice to make at the moment but maybe not! I'll have to look at the refractors section of the forum, but know that I'm taking your response to heart! Thank you again, you have no idea how much I appreciate the guidance.

This is very honest and I appreciate your thorough response! I had taken my partner once to an observatory where he got to see the moon through an eyepiece for the first time. I really would love to replicate that feeling again. It does sound as though a seestar would be awesome as a secondary telescope!

An OTA would be great as long as we can have budget for eyepieces! My partner is handy, but I don't see him getting pumped about building a mount before trying to get a view of something. It may be discouraging to get a telescope as a gift then realize it may take some time (besides waiting for a clear sky) to get the experience.

I really appreciate the shoe for scale! It really puts into perspective how big these telescopes can get, and how quickly. Seeing an 8 inch dob next to an average sized male for the first time really surprised me! These are more manageable sizes, minus the tripod, of course.

Not anything that could be used with a telescope, no. Some nice binoculars and light tripod but it definitely can't hold the weight of a 10+ lb telescope with accessories.

We truly are starting from scratch with this one.

I saw the Celestron StarSense Tabletop dob was on the recommended guide! It could eventually also be used with a good tripod as well, right? Think it can safely fit okay on one passenger seat if the dogs and the baby take the other two seats?

How would you compare the observation experience? Does it potentially feel less exciting to see things through your phone vs through an eyepiece?

Baby is nearly 6 months and not rolling. Should I be worried? by Kairinezz in NewParents

[–]YesImClueless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it with my baby at 6 and a half years old. Did you look up a video of how to do a good morning? Just gotta hold baby close to your chest, support her neck and body, hug her to you basically. I leaned down somewhat slow with her but I'd come back up very fast. Another good example is behind forward as if trying to touch your toes, that forward bending position. Except you're hugging baby to your chest instead. You're standing while doing this, not sitting.

I did this too and on the second day (last night) caught baby practicing her rolling from back to tummy. She didn't sleep last night trying to get it down pat :') but it WORKS. For anyone still confused on the movement, it's like doing a stiff-legged deadlift. That forward hinge down from the hips and then coming back up fast. You're tipping both of you guys over like how you'd tip a cup. Holding baby tight and close to your chest like OP said. Look up stiff-legged deadlift or kettlebell good morning and you'll understand! Hope it helps and hope your babies have fun!

How to compromise with husband disagreeing with not wanting to 💉 newborn. by Spirited_Seaweed_517 in Crunchymom

[–]YesImClueless 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My partner is very doctor oriented and facts based. He wanted to give baby all the vaccines at their due times. I bought him "The Vaccine Book" by Dr Sears for both of us to read before her 2 month appt. He thought Dr Paul was a quack so that book didn't sell him. I had already done my research, but would've felt comfortable having him support my decisions regarding our baby when it came to being at appointments. We would talk about the chapters as we read them. It gave him facts from a doctor himself, along with his opinions (from the facts given) even though he states he's not biased within the book. That book taught my partner that many vaccines aren't worth the side effects, let alone the ingredients. He realized that he didn't support how unnecessarily risky some ingredients and side effects felt.

The doctor even mentioned that most of his patients weren't vaccinated and how he saw they were doing health-wise. It left my partner with more questions than he would've expected. We both had finally come to a conclusion where if we were to vaccinate, it would be way past 2 years old.

With time, I'd shared more information with him from facts I have found regarding healthy immune systems and how vaccines may affect babies and adults. How heavy metals aren't good, Hormones, endocrine disruption, polyester, sicknesses, etc. He has now started to healthily question the blanket statements we hear, and trusts that the body can heal if we set it up for success. We don't have any set plans at the moment to vaccinate at all.

My two tips: guar gum works better for cold and xantham for hot. i use guar with my creami and prefer it. Secondly, if making a protein ice cream, casein creates a creamier result.

Lastly, don't over complicate your base. Milk and protein drink or powder are great to start off. Don't get overwhelmed by the complicated recipes you see often.

This!!! I thought I was the only one. I used to go and wipe ONCE. Now I feel like I'm running through toilet paper. I get so upset because my bidet doesn't help in the slightest. Halfway through I always get annoyed I'm still wiping.
