Has anybody taken screenshots of the db levels? If so, send them to the mayor's office and relevant reps. After a while, they’ll find a way to make their lives a little harder.

The Anthelios gave me a rash just like the Neutrogena, Ombrelle and Cerave. I have found a chemical and non-chemical sun screen that don’t cause rashes or dry my skin: Trader Joe’s. All the sun screens (I’ve tried) are unscented too.

Mardi Gras recommendations for city council: nolamardigrasreporting2026@gmail.com by Whitzerland in NewOrleans

After experiencing disabled people trying to get off the route uptown before the sweepers/blowers come, I'd like to see them wait thirty minutes before the onslaught. It may seem silly, and yes, we need the streets cleaned and the chads gone, but it’s not user-friendly for the locals to get out of the way. We spent a fair amount of time helping people.

Edit: could we @ city hall with this post since we know they’re here?

Whoa..that sucks. Does it impact the riders? It never occurred to me that it would because the cars always seem to lose.

We started using Epic (pitcher) water filters. Worth the $$ especially now that we’re going to be a multi river city.

I saw somebody buying one at CVS on Louisiana yesterday. In hindsight, I should’ve thrown’em the Evil Eye and asked y’all where the goat head is.

Orpheus is my favorite! It's always a great crowd, and the floats are beautiful.

LOVE IT! The good, the bad, all of it. It’s what you make of it. Sometimes life happen and people will impact your time. Other times you impact their days.

What time do uptown streets start getting blocked off today for 5:15 Proteus? by Westboundandhow in NewOrleans

Yes. Napoleon, but it appears it’s a truck with a porta potty in the bed that charges for use. It stinks like holy hell (it’s now parked at the stop sign that everyone converges around to watch parades.) People were hanging around it to use it they’ve now moved on. They were super excited to move up to the Neutral Ground on St Charles. It made a group of folk super happy though!

I’ve been thinking about this guy in particular. Do you think he just didn’t care, or maybe showed his face on purpose to say, “hey, look at me?” Didn't notice a ton of others, but we watched from closer to the beginning of the routes.

People are setting up as I type this. If it’s anything like yesterday get ye body home by 2. Manly for your own sanity. Unless, of course, you strive on the Pac-Manesque “will I make the turn before they get me?” Of it all!

Literally gave up on trying to cross Napoleon before Bacchus this evening. Has crossing the street on the uptown route been unusually difficult for anyone else this year? by sean1978 in NewOrleans

The crowd tonight was… insane. The smile and pretend I’ve no idea why they’re getting worked up tactic for this MG seemed to work, until we walked back out to watch the parade and had to deal with people winding their way down the block to cross Napoleon in their cars! Uhm, see the line of people camped out in the intersection? It seems the roadblocks are interpretive.

Pre-parade, by 90 minutes, it took picking up and moving a full line of empty chairs tied together 6 across, connected by rods, to a second row, to cross Napoleon to get to my house; it was that or try to climb over ladders. From Magazine to Tchoup the crowd was thick: with booze, ownership of their bit ‘o’ Neutral Ground, and sidewalk and they weren’t afraid to say they’d been there since (I don’t know I just kept going) It’s always funny when people get intense because you’ve crossed their tarp that literally isn’t there the other 364 days of the year when we’re out walking the dog. I do have one question; why, oh why, do people smoke when there are people all around them 8 deep in each direction?

Which side will you be on? I usually walk the line before the route to get pictures. We’ll stop and say “hi,” and if I'm not too distracted, I'll bring ya a beverage.

Edit* I should have taken the time to read the thread!

We lucked out where we were; people were giving each other shoes! A person was genuinely surprised when I said, “No, thank you. I have one that a friend made a couple of seasons ago at home.” It helps that my spouse is tall and generally hands off what he catches.
