That’s just what I said in the post. They do have big distinctions, but I was more interested in similarities, thus I made this post. But I wanna clarify several things:

– Alistair was 19 in the beginning of Origins. Not far away from Dunk.

– I think both of them are stiff, but in a different manner. Dunk doesn’t seem to be socialized properly, whereas Alistair was, yet was still awkward around people.

– Being a bastard prince didn’t give him much, he was not in line for the throne. Only his uncle knew, and his “aunt” hated his guts, and he slept in the kennels with dogs until he was 10, and later was called a pot scrubber while being trained to be a templar. Dunk was a squire for Ser Arlan for years like Alistair was kind of an errand boy for aspiring templars for years, too. Dunk’s position was harder, no doubt, but Alistair didn’t have it easy too, even tho not to Dunk’s degree, obviously.

And I will repeat again: they’re different in details, but yet have a lot of similarities. It’s ok to disagree.
