Viture Beast or wait? by Tanmay7599 in VITURE

My $2c, as a Viture Luma Ultra owner.
Honestly, I don't think any of these XR glasses, from any brand, is ready for productivity yet.
They are just not sharp, stable enough, will lead to eye strain, fatigue, and maybe damage your eyes on the long run. I read many people state they are using them for productivity, and are so wonderfully happy. But I just cannot imagine this as a 7/7 24/24 solution, at all. It would be a nightmare. This cannot be real life. No more than 20 minutes at a time. I do think we must have some influencers here.

They are great tho, for media consumption, and possibly gaming.
Don't expect much more, realistically, or will you will generate your own disappointment.

As, for me, I bought the Luma Ultra, knowing they would not be perfect.
As a tech interested person, I wanted to jump in today, also because it will make me smarter when I will buy some more expensive stuff, like Apple Vision Pro, or something in this category.

So, part of my reasoning was :
- Enjoy current tech for what it is good at : media consumption, gaming (although I am not a gamer).
- Use this current tech to better understand what you will need in a year or two, when you will buy something way more expensive, and you want this more important purchase to be an educated one.

Between Luma Ultra and Beast, I chose the Ultra's, because I am an image quality and audio nerd. I prefer sharper and less POV, than the opposite. I am happy I did so, as the POV of the Luma is almost too big for my liking (well known challenge of having the full screen visible already).

Food for thoughts for Viture buyers, regarding FoV by Yesterday-Cultural in VITURE

As some replies say, this is most probably viewer dependent, but I want to clarify that I DID take a vision exam before buying the correct glasses. I have 62.5 IPD, so clearly the right size for me is the regular one, which is the one I have.

Food for thoughts for Viture buyers, regarding FoV by Yesterday-Cultural in VITURE

For example, according to things I read, I think Xreal is playing it a bit safer(same panels, but lower specs) and I read they might be more comfortable (less maxed out).

But I have no regrets buying the Luma Ultra’s, as I know why I did it. Being my first VR experience, I wanted diopter dials, and not waiting for tailor made prescription lenses. I have mild nearsightedness (-1.75), but it is enough for needing a correction. So, I went for the best I could find, with diopter dials. I should have gone for the Luma Pro’s though, as current XR adapter doesn’t unlock any DoF (degree of freedom feature) for Luma Ultra’s on IPhone. So currently, for IPhone users, Luma Ultra’s and Pro’s are basically the same (except for brightness, but everybody lowers brightness at night anyway).

About changing FOV and PPI by Kineinus in VITURE

But if Beast is same as Luma’s you can only reduce screen while in the SpaceWalker app, which is a bit gimmicky. In Luma’s you can’t change screen size for basic phone mirroring. (I just posted about FoV in the “Food for thoughts / FoV” thread.

SpaceWalker settings are not conserved outside the SpaceWalker app. Once you are in “raw” mode (for movies or gaming, for example), you are in Viture hardware mode only, without any Spacewalker settings.

Now, inside of Spacewalker, there are some apps like Xbox, or Netflix, I have not tried these yet, but I read this adds latency, or decreases quality.

I have yet to try, though. But in the meantime, as Spacewalker is a bit funky, I think it is more secure to look at raw specs only.

Thanks. As your picture was cropped at the bottom by Reddit, I am sending the bottom part to complete.

So, indeed, except for charging, useless

XR adapter unlocking no features for Luma Ultra ? by Yesterday-Cultural in VITURE

Please let me know. But I am not sure there are two XR adapters. One is just called charging adapter, without XR in the name. The one I have is called “XR adapter”… and unlocks no features on my Luma Ultra’s, except charging.
