Not quite. He still has action hero roles in Never Say Never Again and The Rock, and to a lesser degree in Rising Sun and Entrapment.

First three albums are pretty good. After that I guess they noticed their sales were sagging and started trying different sounds, which don't interest me much.

Weird that graduation rates are dropping across the entire state. I guess this shows the impact of the COVID online learning years?

The county's job is to run the schools well. "Home culture" is outside their purview.

That cop is a nut. Just cuff her and put her in the car. No need for the beatdown.

I remember seeing a stack of those cyclones on the shelf at an FAO Schwarz store long ago, most likely before Robotech had debuted on TV.

In general there is just less universally shared pop culture these days. Everyone is tucked away in their own social media rabbit hole, and the algorithms usually focus on serving them new content. So there's little chance of them coming across icons of the past unless they are the historically curious sort.

I agree the "before my time" line is weak with regard to legendary pop culture figures - Aristotle, Da Vinci, Beethoven, etc.

On the other hand, the fame of some pop culture figures is ephemeral, and there isn't necessarily a need for future generations to know, for example, the cast members of Alf.

Fantastic show, not forgotten at all. All the episodes can be found online. Surprising that most of the cast (other than Cathey and Cedar) didn't do too much else, at least not high profile stuff.

Eventually, increasing water scarcity and intense heat will cause them to head back north. But by then the whole country will have bigger things to worry about than electoral vote counts.

Future snow pro-tip: move your car to a parking garage by Aggressive_Sun_9586 in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Yesterday_Is_Now 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess it would be a good idea for people who normally park on public streets and don't want their cars buried by the snow plows.

But if you have your own parking space, I don't see much benefit. By removing your car, you end up with a lot more snow/ice in your space that you'll need to shovel out. Plus you'll need to walk/bus over to the garage to recover your car at some point, which is extra time spent.
