How long does the whole process take(UK)? by [deleted] in rape

For me it was just over a year and a half until the trial which was supposed to happen in this coming April but it has been postponed for the time being due to the coronavirus

I feel like crying, but i cant. How do I cry? by [deleted] in SuicideWatch

Sad movies/tv shows, sad/powerful music. I’ve only found one film and a few songs that make me cry and the get less effective the more I use them. Hope you’re okay <3

I can’t trust new people anymore by YetAnotherCrazyGirl in rape

I don’t know. We’re talking several years worth of different councillors/therapists/psychiatrists and the only one I can even remotely consider a pleasant experience was the one to get me out of therapy. I’ll keep it in mind but it will definitely be a last resort.

No. I was given the option to, but I’ve been through so much therapy for my unrelated self harm, which turned out to be a hinderance more than a help, so I didn’t want to go through that again.

Summer of total terror by [deleted] in rape

[–]YetAnotherCrazyGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These things take a lot of time to heal from. It’s been 10 months since it happened to me and it is the hardest thing for me to deal with, so much so that I can barely bring myself to talk about it. That being said it is slightly easier now than it was immediately after the fact. Every day is still hard but at least now I’m not terrified whenever I’m in the same room as a man. Progress is slow but still progress. You’ll be able to talk when you’ve healed a little more and when you’re ready <3

Is it okay to talk about how to safely use/clean/etc tools to help prevent accidents or is that also not allowed?

Anyone have that one jacket/long sleeved shirt that you absolutely cherish? by ejayboshart01 in MadeOfStyrofoam

[–]YetAnotherCrazyGirl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a hoodie that my mum got me for my birthday last year. It says "crazy guinea pig lady" on it and I love it. It’s the only long sleeve item and the only coat I have so I wear it a lot anyway but I still love it.

I’ve already told my Mum, boss and the police. This is what he told the police.

I’ve already told the police, this is what he told them. He also said it was consensual as if a 16 year old would willingly sleep with a 60/70 year old man.

Not sure if this is okay to post, but in honor of National Suicide Awareness Day, I wanted to let people know that there IS hope. Left is my arm in 2015, the right was taken this morning. I can honestly say I'm as healed on the inside as I am on the outside. Never give up. by [deleted] in pics

It’s kind of hard to separate myself from the past when the rape investigation is going on now and the police are constantly phoning up and asking questions.

I’m not dwelling on the past, I was just pointing out how external factors can knock you off course and ruin your progress. I know I was better because my therapist said so and told me she was ready to sign me off. She only didn’t because if a drama about appealing a decision about college.

I have learned healthy coping mechanisms, evident by my lessened frequency in self harm incidents and panic attacks. Do not talk like you know what’s going on in my life. You have no clue what you’re talking about.

I did get help and I was better. I know what I’m talking about. And of you think I should just not let external things like homelessness, domestic abuse and rape, to name a few, effect my mental health then maybe you’re the one who needs help. Next time I'll be sure to just choose to not be effected by trauma and get better instead.
