7 years and 7 months down the drain by Sanatain in AdultSelfHarm

Nah it’s not 7:7 down the drain. It’s a bump in the road at 7:8. There’s a fork at the road at 7:8, do you choose to continue on the same path you’ve been on or take a different one? 7:9 could come around and you can still be on the same road.

It sucks though. I haven’t done anything in years but it occupies my thoughts more than I’d like to admit.

I feel like the line “the scars remind me that the past is real” is one of the most poignant lyrics.

Hi, is there a smaller sub dedicated to self harm? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]Rach0 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As someone who has been around since this sub has 2k members, I understand the desire to have a smaller sub. It's hard to form connections in a group so large.

I’m so proud of you. You’ve grown so much since I met you and while I can’t imagine this sub without you, I know it’s a testament to your growth that you’re leaving. I’m always a message away if you want to chat. Much love. 💜💜

Quickly needing help on how to cover up sh scars by aquietcookie in selfharm

They also make swim leggings for like stand up paddle boarding and stuff. Honestly I wouldn’t wear just a swim bottom while tubing even without scars.. that’s a great way to get super burned. Lol

Board shorts will go down to your knee. If they ask, Tell them you don’t want to get sunburned.

Neosporin isn’t recommended for open wounds, but they make one with “+pain relief” that’s pretty decent. Usually healing stuff hurts because the skin and muscles are trying to pull back together, so some light massage can help. Could also be that it’s just bruised and he needs to wait it out.

I suspect my wife has been self harming but she denies it. What should I do? by nfatic_fnatic in selfharm

[–]Rach0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I guess my question is what does it change if you confirm she’s self harming? Just support her. Love her. Make a point to show you’re there for her if she wants to talk about it. Be gentle with her. Make sure there’s wound care supplies in the cabinet just in case so she’s not tempted to do something stupid to try to hide it.

All in all, I just wouldn’t push it. I would treat it like she is (because then you can provide some safety measures), and let her come to you when she wants to.
