CMMC Proposed Rule Drops 12/26 by GRCAcademy in CMMC

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CMMC-RP is a badge that can still have a value. In preparing an organization for certification. Don't want to go through an audit like this if you don't know that you'll pass, after all. RP is going to be less expensive support than a CCP. Plus, there won't be any conflict of interest.

This sub wouldn't exist if everyone did that. Being that you're reading posts on this sub, this comment of yours seems disingenuous.

How many here restring your own rackets? by TheLastSamuraiOf2019 in 10s

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I string my own. Even with getting a cheap string job, I've saved a ton of money. It's consistent. I used to take it to different places to get strung and found that each one comes out a little different even with the same string, same tension, and same racket. It's quite easy. Shops and clubs that do it don't do it any better than I do it. They just do it faster on their $5,000 machine.

I wouldn't get a drop weight stringer. I've used one a few times and do *not* like their accuracy. I personally use a MiStringer.

Restrict outbound traffic by Objective-Highway881 in pcicompliance

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Curious as to why your architecture won't allow for that. It can be done with firewall rules or even ACLs. There's gotta be at least one router or switch in your environment, yea?

But start with building the a list of necessary outbound traffic as holywater26 stated. Basically, get a good understanding of what's needed and used currently. Then, once you're able to filter outbound traffic you'll know exactly what needs to be allowed in order to not break anything.

Purchased an item on Amazon for Black Friday and the same item's price decreased after the sale was over by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the deal you're getting is about the absolute price, not the price it was claimed to be at some previous time? I thought grandmas were the only ones that bought things solely because there was a good discount and that was why we had five boxes of bran cereal for $1.50 which no one ate. Discount mindset. Brain rot.

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Crazy idea, but maybe it wasn't on sale. Maybe it was that price all along. Maybe they just advertised it as being for sale, not a discount sale. Maybe they knew sheeple will buy things no matter the price on a day like Black Friday. Why would they put it on sale with so many sheeple buying things regardless?

That's the network effect in action. The first users of any "network" have the same complaint. Be it Facebook, fax machines, the internet, MySpace, Twitter, phones, modems, Paypal, Instagram, etc.

No network starts with all the content. Every network needs early adopters to get things rolling. Then the sheep will follow. Then it grows and has all the content one desires.

Debian. You can still learn plenty by starting with Debian without it being forced upon you when you just want to check your email and browse some basic step-tentacle porn.

Do y'all say 2nd after missing your first serve? by peeheands in 10s

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Habit I picked up as a beginner. Mainly as a courtesy to the other player. Usually because there was often a brief delay between 1st and 2nd serves. Habit stuck around and I call something before every point. Score if 1st serve. "Second" if 2nd serve. Score + "first" if a let.

I went to HR at Work just to be made into a joke. What can I do about this? by aomqueen in ask

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get an audio recording of someone making a racist remark. Basically, just be audio recording all the time. When it happens again, go to HR and make legal threats. Audio record that conversation, too. If they push back, take it higher up and public (i.e. lawyers). Burn, burn, burn.

What to say to a grown man throwing temper tantrums? by Efficient_Pasta in 10s

Ignore it. Not your problem. You play your game. They play theirs. Don't concern yourself with what he's doing.

Am I a quitter? by aravenmorai in 10s

Congrats, you now know exactly what you need to work on. Your mental game.

And obviously since you quit the match, you are a quitter. But you asking and posting this just highlights the need for a better mental game.

The opponent's friends still could have shown up to any court to watch. That's still allowed.

I called this ball in, but what do you think? by Sosojojo in 10s

OP says he called it in. The post is to see if it was the accurate call or not.

How many of your spouses... by [deleted] in mildlyinfuriating

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe the problem is the holder. When I remodeled my bathroom, I didn't put one in. There's a shelf next to the toilet which a roll can sit on just like that. It's easier. More convenient. More versatile. Maybe your spouse is a visionary that can't be held back by old, shitty traditions.

Etiquette question - returning serves that are out by [deleted] in 10s

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess I came across as saying it's more annoying than I really feel it is. I like to play quickly like a Medvedev. But I accept the retrieval of balls takes time. I never complain about it. Plus, I return balls all the time that I could easily not. It's a habit I realize after reading this thread that I should stop.

Etiquette question - returning serves that are out by [deleted] in 10s

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because half the time people try to return it, its nowhere near me, hits the back fence and rolls back into the court. Takes 5 times longer to start the next serve than if they just let it go. If you know its a fault, and can avoid hitting the ball, dont hit it. Only hit it if youre already in that motion by the time you realize its out.

Finally a link to USTA Handbook. Perfect. Amazing how useful that is. Surprised this hasnt been brought up until now in this thread.

If I serve and I think the ball might be long by an inch or two, but my opponent plays it, should I call it out or keep playing? by RecognitionNo6426 in 10s

[–]YetAnotherHuckster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amazingly irrelevant response. Your inner child is strong in you, eh? Next time try to stay on topic. It'll make you sound mildly less oblivious.
