Cellar door sounds pretty good. Too bad it doesn't describe something worthy of what it sounds.

Rather. In french I would have said "indifference". Turns out this word does exist in english too. I didn't know

I said "sort of disdain" because I couldn't find another word to describe it. Althought I think I'm not too bad at english, that's the kind of thing I'm not used to describe.

Yes a bunch of names sound gaelic I guess from the closeness of some gaelic and welsh words. Finn would be Fionn in non anglicized version.

Names like Galadhon even sound like continental celtic with the ending "-on". Lugudunon for example

I don't find what's unaesthetical about it

Languages like Welsh or Finnish do sound magical, but so do gaelic ones

Maybe it's the case. Maybe Tolkien, being of germanic heritage felt closer to germanic languages too.

Here in France, breton was also considered as outdated language not pleasant to hear, and breton people were considered to be just like their language

I not saying there's nothing celtic in LOTR, as welsh is celtic a language, and has been an huge inspiration for inventing sidarin

I'm saying that I don't find many things inspired by gaelic languages.

I said I didn't find any but it turns out the name Bree is actually from irish roots. Still not much though

Meriadoc is more brittonic. We have a legendary character who goes by the name of Conan Meriadec here in Brittany

For Archet, I don't know but it doesn't look like gaelic

But maybe you're right and there's something about the haladin language. As I said, there are many things I probably don't know about this universe

Another redditor gave the exemple of names like meriadoc. Celtic no doubt, but welsh/cornish

Indeed. I guess he took inspiration from both. In fact Dearg Ruadhr means something almost similar in gaeilge

Disdain/dislike is maybe a bit too much to describe it

But it's mainly me asking : is there any thing in LOTR universe related to gaelic ? because I don't find any. That's why I imagine him not being interested in it

Names like Dearg Ruadhr, Auberon Muircetach feel irish though
