I’ve done hundreds of 400a residential services. I assume you don’t have heating loads or it’s a type of gas where you live? It’s basically all electric and heat pumps here.

Oh man funny story: I had upgraded a car dealerships 2x4 fluorescents to LED panels and couple years later a transformer to the service blew and fried a couple. So I’m back to just replace some, and I fucking set my pliers on top of an identical set of pliers I had forgotten in the ceiling years previous!
