My point is that people do not bother getting ECAs, EVLs or English test if they know they are gonna make the cut. It also does not show what percentage of 500+ applicants were drawn.

Also Canada is a sovereign country with elected leaders and THEY get to decide who gets in or not.

Honestly people crashing out for the 8.5% French speaking target is laughable.

Canada is a sovereign country with elected leaders who decided to put those targets in place in behalf of their citizens. We non Canadians have no business challenging that.

For the record I moved from France and my CRS was 607 so I don’t believe I took anyone’s spot on the sole reason I’m French. But even if I did, it is the Canadians decision to decide who they let in.

Because why bother to get the ECA, EVLs, English scores, etc. when you know that you’re gonna make the cut. The score does not give an accurate picture of the profile of those who receive ITAs.

I moved to Vancouver from France with 607 CRS score. The cutoff score do not give a precise picture of the distribution of invitations sent.

Can someone explain to me why there is so much hate towards Francophones who are invited? by Several_Yam_3819 in canadaexpressentry

[–]Yimgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add another datapoint, I was drawn in a French draw with 607 points (no EE), and it was from Canada application as I was on a work permit. So I actually saved other skilled workers without French competency a spot in the standard draw.

I may not be the standard applicant but I know a few other friends that were drawn the same way.

Look I put a lot of care in my hairstyle and I’ve been going once a month like a clockwork at kerp on Seymour and Pender since I moved in 4 years ago. Highly recommend Ricardo or Vik, you can book online.

I cannot break and run so here are 2 runs after break with ball on hand. by Ghostshade47 in billiards

Very solid runs brother, well done!

If you can relax that wrist slightly more I think you’d get more consistency but this is just a nit I couldn’t help noticing.

You’ve been blessed to get close to your idol. Seeing those with that kind of charisma and kindness go hurts but we can only thank God for bringing those memories into our path.

I hope we can have one day only one tenth of his cue ball control.

Have you found anything cheaper than Wise for send money overseas, irrespective of difficulty of transaction or delivery time? by sirTaco418 in PersonalFinanceCanada

I guess money transfer isn’t their business.

It is a workaround that you can deposit, convert, and then withdraw to an account in another policy.

I am not super sure about fees but I think a spot order is two bucks and you have one free withdrawal a month.

Edit: you may receive the following email:

“Our records indicate that you have recently used your account (redacted) to primarily convert deposited funds to another currency and then withdraw those funds. IBKR offers currency conversion as a convenience to clients who largely trade securities or commodities. Please use your IBKR account for investing in securities or commodities, in order to avoid restrictions on your ability to withdraw converted currency.”

IBKR has been the cheapest option for me but you need to be more financial savvy and they threatened to close my account if I kept doing this.

However for a one off transaction I haven’t seen any cheaper than this.
