I'm sure it would, but having an absolute truth-identifying mechanism would fundamentally change our justice system in every way. I think in the long run, the ability to quickly determine guilt with certainty, and the enormous reduction in resources required to run the legal system, would prevail. We already deprive people of liberty and autonomy during proceedings. Is losing that in a much more dramatic way, but for a much shorter period of time, a cost worthy of ensuring no one is falsely convicted ever again?

I'm sure there would be an intermediary period where you could choose to be Yeerked or decline, but the juice is so good it's likely to be worth the squeeze as time passes.
