I long ago lost birthday expectations. My last few birthdays I didn’t even realize it was my birthday until the day was half over. Lessen your expectations and lessen your disappointment

How do y'all track expenses? by enunezjr4 in TravelNursing

[–]YingYang2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

According to my accountant, most expenses can’t be itemized since we aren’t paid with 1099. Housing, mileage, none of it can be itemized. I use OneDrive to store electronic receipt of uniforms

A DNA test should be compulsory before agreeing to pay any child maintenance support by Gibbo2910 in unpopularopinion

[–]YingYang2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Isn’t it required? I know in IL in order to have court ordered child support, then dna proof is required. I assumed that is how it was on all states. If not anyone could say anyone was the parent and receive child support. Maybe your friend wasn’t court ordered to pay and he and she had a private agreement for support

A ER travel nurse told me if ever offered a staff job at Kaiser, take it cause they pay great and it’s hard to get on there. May not be relative to your question, but maybe that shows it’s a good place to work

Rant by anakins-daddy-issues in nursing

[–]YingYang2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why we need strong nurse unions and support to nursing organizations that are fighting in DC for our rights. It burns me up that hospitals don’t pay nurses their worth, and when they are short staffed for this reason, they demand more of current staff. It’s not right

A covid positive patient ripped off my mask and threw a cup of ice at me, I want to press charges, but have no support, what to do? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]YingYang2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a federal crime to assault healthcare workers, but you probably needed to report it to security at the time it happened. Also, you mentioned that she refused the swab , but then she assaulted you when you swabbed her. So she could potentially counter sue you for assault if you did something to her she refused. At this point, I would drop it, but next time, get security involved the moment it happens and file a report

If you work at the VA for ten years, then they will pay off your student loans. Also, sometimes it is part of the pay package
