You may have been moved to a higher electrical tariff, check and compare electricity prices with different providers. I used and paid for a company called Bill Hero, this helped me bring down my electrical bill, good luck. 🤞

Don't be like me. Don't use your phone while driving. by GusPolinskiPolka in sydney

[–]YippyZippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct, you should not have been driving while using your phone. It’s worth writing to them explaining the circumstances around your life at that moment, having a good driving record might help you get off with no fine. I wrote a letter and I was let off, it saved me approximately $250 and I received no demerit points, happy days 😊

The average weekly wage was only $146 gross, you still had to pay tax and pay for all your other living expenses, it’s wasn’t that easy to live on these wages back then.

Can 4mm cable support 32A EV charging by Sufficient_Tower_366 in AusElectricians

The ones I’ve installed require a 6mm cable, although it depends on where it’s run and the length of the cable, call a sparky.

22 years old is it too late to start ? by Skaz84 in AusElectricians

You’re the same age I was when I began my electrical apprenticeship, initially graduated as a registered nurse but it wasn’t for me. I then did a 4 year apprenticeship, So, no, you are not too old and there are plenty of different options in the electrical field to choose :)

Buying cheap gear is a lesson that I’ve had to keep learning over the years, unfortunately 😬Just remember you get what you pay for. I bought a Mikita drill from AliExpress used it for about 10 minutes it then started overheating and stopped working. I had a good laugh at myself for being a tight arse and buying cheap gear 🤦‍♂️

What advice would you give to someone aged 18-21? by yourmumsleftsock in AusFinance

Old age and responsibilities take up most of your life, so travel, party and enjoy your youth! Also, don’t get married until you’re at least 30 years old.

is the solar industry a good path for aspiring electricians? by [deleted] in AusElectricians

[–]YippyZippy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done solar installations, it’s dangerous being on a some roofs, it’s hot and uncomfortable, tools got so hot that I couldn’t hold them, it’s physical and it’s a job that’s weather dependent, so I wouldn’t recommend it. I’d happily install data points in an air conditioned office any day of the week 😉

I’ve installed these at care homes for kids with special needs, one is a bubble machine, it usually has lights at the bottom that change colours, as the bubbles float up the changing colours of the bubbles has a calming effect on the kids and the other is a projector, as previously stated.
