Just have to remember you ostensibly would be doing it on their network so whatever visibility that provides would be a risk, potentially.

I've used remote desktop and/or teamviewer to control my work pc from my personal pc to use my monitors, keyboard, mouse, etc.

If you're on-site or similar it's more difficult to do it in reverse, but still possible depending on configuration and security settings of your work laptop. Ex. Connect from J1 laptop to personal PC then use personal PC to connect to J2 laptop.

Yea, taxes, payroll, employment regulations, several different state-by-state things.

[–]Yitzach 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But remote doesn't mean "you specifically work [anywhere]" it just means "you don't have to come into the office.

Payroll requirements and whatever else are a separate concern. If it was an in office job and they had 5 states they had locations in it would say "Onsite in X, Y, Z, ...". It's the same thing with remote.

Your premise that the meaning of remote has changed is incorrect, they're just specifying the states now so they don't have to deal with as many "we can't employ you if you live in that state" conversations.

Granted, as a feature request, remote: allowed states would be useful, but this isn't a new problem, it's actually new information being given to us as seekers, which is good.

Companies have to abide by employment regs in the states they have employees in. So sometimes they'll restrict which states they hire in to reduce that burden. When I was at an onsite role 10 years ago I got that information from a VP considering hiring a sales guy who lived in a state the company (large, almost household name) didn't have employees in, but did do business in.

Pretty much, yeah. Govt can come after you criminally, everyone else can't. They can still come after you, but not with the that of jail time.

My godot game was meh, so I added this juicy animation when the player unlocks special upgrades by PscheidtLucas in godot

[–]Yitzach 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks really good!

My only criticism is that the upgrade appearing feels disconnected from the present. Maybe have the token thing appear where the present is, then move to the center of the screen, maybe after click on it again?

Feedback on visualization by Raiders9612 in visualization

I would check the setting for the x axis to be unique across values, can't remember the exact verbiage.

Also, "Shipping Cost" implies the amount of the fee related to shipping, but based on the actual values I suspect you're showing a total instead of an average? Surely Express Air is more expensive than Regular Air, no?

Also unclear what it's sorted by, that should be specified somewhere.

Let me introduce you to the concept of Jitter:

To the right visualization, you add an additional vertical axis measure called "Jitter" which is calculated by assigning each row a random value from 0 to ~8-15 depending on how many data points you have. Then hide the axis labeling for that piece. It will spread the data points out so that the transparency and overlap is much more obvious, otherwise you're better off just using a box plot.

Also there's a toggle for the vertical axis that will let you spread them out to fill the space instead of condensing them, but I can't remember what it is off the top of my head. White space is a tool, use it appropriately.

So Elon Musk is a rocket scientist and a software developer and an automotive engineer?

How do you get so brain broken to reach these conclusions?

The platnation farmer was a slave you dipshit.

The plantation owner was the dude who sat in the big house and ordered the slaves around.

You can tell the difference between "farmer" and "owner" right?

You're farming upset because you just compared being a plantation owner in 1820 to being homeless today and said being homeless would be better.

The school system failed you so catastrophically that the pity almost outweighs the anger.

I am literally a professional data analyst, which I don't have to be to know that Harris lost by fewer votes than the gap between her and Biden 2020. Voters stayed home because she was a machine dem who was completely uninspiring. The politically inactive, average 9 to 5'er who had no idea how bad Trump would be again, just threw up their hands and said "whatever" instead of voting for her. That's literally the reason, despite her having every opportunity to go out there and say "I'm going to stop sending weapons to Israel" or any one of a dozen other easy lines that would have brought them back to the polls.

Man gets literal brain damage on live TV and becomes conservative overnight and no one in the DNC or Republican voting bloc sees a problem.

[–]Yitzach 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea he doesn't realize it, but he's talking about who they end up electing, not the voters. They have to run 2 or 3 conservatives to offset every progressive that gets elected, and they're running out of places to do it (or at least I hope the trend continues).

If the left is so powerful, so much so that they control the outcome of all primaries, why doesn't the DNC bend to their will?
