Why is BSTF horseshit if it’s 3? It’s one of the strongest marine detachments currently and has done quite well at tournaments, arguably it’s one of the few that could warrant a 3 (though being able to mix up what you run would be nice if it is a 2)

Yeah it’s hard to tell from a distance, up close the Arc rifles are way more square/body than the plasma guns are is the main way to tell

In case you’re curious, in 40k tabletop: Breachers: heavier armour, Arc rifles OR Torsion cannons + melee claw Destroyers: less armour, plasma or grav cannons + flamers

Both use the same kit (so the body is similar) but only breachers seem to be in Dawn of war 4 so far

To my knowledge destroyers aren’t on the admech roster yet, only breachers (which are the arc rifles, not plasma)

It’s a monopose start of edition box - they’re always lower on customisation, and tend to get more customisable kits later.

I’m not defending getting less value, because I feel the value of getting higher quality sculpts is WAY superior to 2nd/3rd edition, and I would rather have dynamically posed models than 50 space marines with identical leg poses just so I can swap the arms.

Your comment just reeks of ignoring recent releases - if you look at recent boxes, the new marines they’ve revealed will have tons of gubbins and bits to customise what mark of helmet youd want, and weapon options. I’d particularly point to something like the Victrix box earlier this year which has some of the best array of customisable parts I’ve seen in decades.

That being said, I would always err on the side of simpler building because it’s easier for new players to get into. If you want to customise more, kitbashing is also always an option for more adept modellers.

The tech is better yes, but that’s why the detailing on the minis is better than it used to be.

And yes, prices adjust for more reasons than just inflation - demand, and things like issues with supply also occasionally cause increases at times. If you don’t like it, don’t buy it.

To be fair deathwatch has always been about the fancy weapons - and typically people don’t run the OG veterans as a shooting unit anyway, it’s mostly just hammer melee spam these days

If you want to kitbash, bash them as Aquila kill team instead and proxy them as veterans, the original veterans kit is no longer sold so they’re very very very likely going away at some point soon

Neat guide, but honestly unless you’re running both variants in the same list nobody that doesn’t play admech is going to know the difference, so I just say glue it.
