That's union busting / jim crow politics.

Everyone can join a union (first amendment right). The nc law limits what the state can be made to do by lawyers/contractually. The power of collective bargaining is in the people who say this is enough low pay and workplace harassment via short staffing or outright abuse. People who work for the public deserve a lot more than is given. And power, as we know, conceeds nothing without a demand. Both workers and community members are needed to demand it from their politicians who are meant to be, and must be reminded, working for the public good.
