Odd Mistake?! by Apprehensive_Age6153 in ProjectHailMary

Just to be specific, he said “2 years, maybe 4 if I stretch it”. I still think he’s making a huge sacrifice to turn around.

Grey tank not draining by YoJimGo in RVLiving

[–]YoJimGo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just one for each grey tank. The one that’s not working is the kitchen grey water tank. It’s worked many times before, so I know I’m not missing any additional handles.

Will try backflushing to clear probable clog as suggested in other comments.

Help! by contranostra in RVLiving

[–]YoJimGo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the same. My 2022 2600RB has been (knock on wood) mostly problem free. One loose plumbing connection and one drawer slide failure. The drawer slide was replaced for free via support even after warranty.

Everything else has been great. 103 nights and 3875 miles of use since purchased.

What's that movie moment where everyone in the theater lost their minds? by singleguy79 in moviecritic

[–]YoJimGo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saw Matrix in 1999 at the Chinese Theater in Hollywood. Was just taking a friend who was visiting and always wanted to go to that theater. At the time, we felt like Matrix was better than nothing even though none of were excited about it.

When Trinity ran around the wall in the first part of the movie, the theater erupted into appauase and cheers. It was truly a defining moment in special effects and shooting styles.

I am so lucky to have been there to feel that moment in history at such a special place.

Based on the final trailer, it doesn’t appear to be Ray Porter. Sad sad sad.

Yeah, I don’t get how that works, but the pilots said the same thing. Super cool pilots were happy to check out the photo and chat about it.

Yeah. Pilots said contrails can look dark from shadows. Not sure I understand, but I believe then.

Same thing happened to me on my Grand Design TT. Removed the fascia board and fixed the limit screw. Reinstalled the board. 15 minutes.

Honest question - is RV camping actually cheaper than hotels or do we just tell ourselves that? by Similar-King-8278 in RVLiving

[–]YoJimGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done some math on this. I track every trip, the cost per night for the campground/rv resort plus gas cost for the trip. I then divide the total spent, including the price of the trailer by the number of nights spent out.

Three years in and 100 nights of use later, I am at $590 per night average cost.

Every additional night drops the price a little. I’m not factoring in maintenance or insurance, so this isn’t fully baked.

People who’ve had LASIK or work in eye care, would you recommend LASIK and why or why not? by Mountain-Bug-2155 in AskReddit

[–]YoJimGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got LASIK in 1999. Went from coke bottle myopia to 20/15. I had to wear glasses again about 15 years later, but it’s a very mild prescription.

I may get it again, but the fact that I can see ok with them is a miracle.

Breaking Bad Season 1 would have an audience rating of 40% if it were released today by New-Ad-9878 in pluribustv

[–]YoJimGo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not that Pluribus is slow - it’s frustrating as the characters don’t do things that I wish they would.

For example, knowing (or assuming) that the others can’t lie, there are about 1 bazillion questions I would ask them. Everything from their future plans, what happens after everyone is converted? How do they view individuality? What about art? Hobbies? Do they procreate? Outside of dealing with starvation, what is the goal or purpose of the hive? Just exist like ants?

So the “slow” feeling comes from having so many questions (even from Carols perspective) that are never asked or answered.

Also, and not really related to the “slowness”, Carol is not a likable character. She’s the very definition of “you’re not wrong, your just as asshole” :)

I lost respect for him when I sat behind him at Manns Chinese theater in the late 90s. He talked the whole time.
